The lifestack MK Lightning can confirm that Joshua Saunders will not be returning for the upcoming season.
Josh joined the club from the Kirkcaldy Kestrels ahead of last season, making the move south to Milton Keynes. During his time with the Lightning, Josh demonstrated professionalism, commitment, and a strong work ethic both on and off the ice.
We would like to thank Josh for his contributions to the team and wish him every success for the future.
@Jmd_92 Wouldn’t be surprised to see Phantoms go with an import again, rumours of Max Wright heading there. Bristol seems the front runner for the rumours for Will
Ultimate team guy. Great tandem with Heds, massive hype guy on the bench.
No surprise he’s moving on though, should be playing regularly
Wonder if we’ll be swapping him with Bristol for Thomas
The lifestack MK Lightning can confirm that Will Kerlin will not be returning for the upcoming season.
Since joining Lightning in 2023, Will has been a fantastic character both on and off the ice, becoming a valued part of the dressing room over the past three seasons.
Everyone at Milton Keynes Lightning would like to thank Will for his commitment, professionalism and contribution to the team during his time with the club. We wish him nothing but success in the future.
Good luck, Will.
@mrandyreynolds I’d be surprised if Heds is back to sit behind an import nettie, though their have been rumours.
Hope we go with a Brit tandem, would be very happy with Thomas if we can get him
@danielchapman86 The Johnson release mentioned running 4 import forwards. From the rumours, we could be looking at an all Brit D core.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Norris join Tim in Fife, seem to be focussing on Brits, for a change
@danielchapman86 Yeah, since returning back to this level, we seem to struggle bringing in imports unknown to UK hockey, Ari Nahri….. Jokinen….. Laishram didn’t excel for us, hope Pete bucks the trend with this crop
@danielchapman86 Yeah, new import looks solid, if not spectacular. Imagine they’ll improve as the signings are announced. Looking fairly strong going forward right now
Disco back for one last dance 🪩🕺
Didn’t look like he’d lost a step when he slotted straight back into the team at Christmas, great to have him back for a whole season 🤩

Kell and Carter rumoured to MK, though I could see Tim taking Carter to Fife.
Carruth will be a handy pick up for someone in this league
For Sharks, I hope there is news soon and they’re in the league next year. Want the league to be growing not shrinking
NIHL National League - Forwards Carter Hamill & Kyle Carruth and defenceman Kell Beattie all confirmed as not returning to Solway Sharks (@solwaysharks) - https://t.co/3xLitg7NAw #OneNIHL#NIHLSigningNews
Good to see Tim land a new role.
Think his methods will work better with a fully pro roster, than a semi pro one.
Really hope it works out it for him, has a big job on his hands

Shame to see Rio go, always gave 100% whenever he got on the ice. His energy and relentlessness on the 4th line will be hard to replace
Rumours of him dropping to NIHL1, wonder if he ends up playing with his brother in Romford
Milton Keynes Lightning can confirm that Rio Grinell-Parke will not be returning to the team for the upcoming season.
Rio’s journey with MK began back in 2017 with Thunder in NIHL1 before stepping up to join Lightning in 2019. Over six seasons with the club, Rio has been a valued part of the MKL family, giving his commitment, hard work and dedication every time he pulled on the jersey.
Everyone at Milton Keynes Lightning would like to sincerely thank Rio for everything he has given to the club over the years.
