Yes, she has become the easternmost June Hurricane in the Atlantic Basin’s history—but she does not appear to be satisfied with this. Consequently, Beryl is scavenging the tropics like an execrable crustacean, snapping up every morsel of oceanic heat content that she can lay her banded claws on. And in just ~30 hours’ time, she intends to burst from her currently lumpy exoskeleton, and smooth out into a whirling Major Hurricane that is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
