@beanyzilla Small problem - I'm part Scottish, from the highlands. If there were more of me, I'd have to battle them to the death. There can be only one. ๐
But really, there's lots of places that can use a spare hand, on food prep or serving or all sorts of things, if there are more mes ๐
Whew. Thanksgiving week is always such a mess for me - so much cooking! But I really enjoy it, and getting food out to folks is always a good thing. Added bread takeouts to my menu this year, using measuring spoons I modeled/printed๐
Now to figure out where I was in props...
@trashpandacos I just do a quick dunk to cool/clean, sometimes more if there's a lot of built up sanded material, and let it be damp when I bring the sander back into play. The sanding pads aren't made for wet sanding, though, so they will fall apart pretty quick, unlike real wetsanding paper
Yay, internet back. It's strange, but as soon as I ship off a prop, I usually make a spare, just in case something goes wrong. Worst case, I've got a kit ready to make a new one. Had fun with this, the bipod legs extend as a single print, and rotate using a PETG rubbery joint
I was mostly worried about the friction hold for the rotation on the bipod, but it worked far better than I expected! Even though that's basically how Gundam model kits do their joints, too...
@AJLoCascio Moderna here for all doses - second dose took me down for most of the next day (felt like a head cold, run down, slept it off), and my arm was sore for the next several. Booster was similar intensity, but went away faster
Oof. Got captured today to move appliances - big chest freezers, stove, etc. I tried to get the printers working for while I was gone, but a couple failed while I was away. My robot minions are not yet ready to overthrow the world, I guess...

Suddenly saw that one of my printers - in the middle of a 20 hour print - had its extruder fan stopped/jammed. Quick pause, disassemble very carefully, clean, reassemble, hit resume.. and fingers crossed that this all works
I cannot believe that this is now day four of not being able to find my 9v connector terminals. I had a bag of them. I'm emptying my work area.. and still they are missing. I might have to harvest from previous projects in the short term until I can get a new delivery..
A friend picked up a knit hat weaving loom.. thing. Wanted a bigger one, so I modeled it up and printed a test case. They handed me back a hat a few hours later, with some ideas on how to improve it. And now I look like a ski bum ๐
@silverfang09 I have that and the reverse problem as well - keep hearing about movies coming out in 2022 and thinking "sheesh, far future of 2022, I'll think about that when it's closer.. wait.."
