On behalf of the people of Ontario, I extend my sincere condolences to the family, loved ones and fellow service members of Toronto Police Service Constable Marc Pinizzotto, who was killed in the line of duty today.
Today is a sobering reminder of the sacrifices and risks faced by police officers across Ontario every day as they work to keep our province safe.
Nothing says "change" like bringing back Justin Trudeau's top confidant and chief Minister to import the very policies that cost Canada hundreds of thousands of jobs, drove up costs for families, undermined our global reputation and national unity.
We cannot afford Trudeau 2.0.
Today, I joined the Brampton Board of Trade to speak with local business leaders about how we are protecting Ontario’s economy and supporting businesses through a period of global uncertainty.
Thank you to the Board for more than 140 years of leadership and advocacy.
Toronto’s selection as the headquarters for the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank would be more than just a win for the downtown core. It would support investment across a deeply integrated GTA economy.
We commend our regional Mayors for their public endorsement of Toronto and look forward to working together to secure this generational investment for our workers.

ICYMI: This morning I joined @MooreintheAM on Newstalk1010 to highlight why Toronto is the right choice for the global headquarters of the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank.
Historic investment by @agnicoeagle, with a planned $14B commitment to expand and develop two major mines in Ontario.
A strong signal of global confidence in Ontario’s new accelerated permitting regime and our position as Canada’s top mining investment jurisdiction.
Polish Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the vibrant culture, history, and contributions of the Polish community in Ontario and across Canada. 🇵🇱
With more than 500,000 Polish Canadians in Ontario, this month offers an opportunity to reflect on the strength and lasting impact of our community.
It is also a time to recognize the significance of Poland’s 1791 Constitution, a historic milestone that remains a powerful symbol of sovereignty and democratic values.
My father often quoted Elie Wiesel who wrote: “In extreme situations where human lives and dignity are at stake, neutrality is a sin.”
In that spirit, my family and I were deeply honoured to be recognized at Tel Aviv University Canada’s 2026 Changemakers Gala. My father devoted his life to championing democracy and international cooperation around the world, which included always standing with Israel and the Jewish people. Recognizing this, Tel Aviv University awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1994 and later established the Brian Mulroney Chair in Government. The Chair plays a pivotal role at TAU to advance research, develop public policy dialogue, and help build the future leaders of the world. My family and I are grateful to everyone that joined us to support this mission as we work to advance democracy and strengthen the ties between Canada and Israel for years to come.
Happy to be in Michigan with the Honourable @C_Mulroney, MPP and President of the Treasury Board of the Province of Ontario. Very productive meetings at @michiganstateu with @msucanadian and with MSU President @KevinGuskiewicz
Yesterday, I visited Michigan State University to learn about the important work being done at the Canadian Studies Center (CSC).
As the longest-serving center of its kind in the country, the CSC’s research offers valuable insights into the relationship between Ontario and the United States.
Thank you to MSU President @KevinGuskiewicz and the leadership team for the meeting and tour.
Ground Effects Ltd. is a trusted supplier to the automotive industry.
While in Windsor, I toured their manufacturing facility and learned how the company has grown from a family-owned business to a global leader with more than 30 locations worldwide.
Congratulations to the team on 40 years of leadership, growth, and impact in the sector.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge will be a game changer.
Today, I visited the site and saw firsthand the scale of this project. This crossing between Windsor and Detroit will support trade, strengthen supply chains, and help keep goods moving across the border. Even before it opens, it stands as a symbol of the strong connection between our countries.
Windsor-Essex is an economic engine for our province.
Today, I led a roundtable with members of the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce to discuss the challenges businesses are facing in this period of economic uncertainty. From trade and tariffs to pressures on local industries, we focused on practical solutions to protect businesses, support growth, and strengthen the economy.
Congratulations to the Chamber on recently marking 150 years of leadership and advocacy for the region.
What a momentous day! 🏡
Today, the provincial and federal governments signed the Canada–Ontario Partnership to Build, a giant step forward to get more homes built faster, expand transit, and support jobs across Ontario.
This agreement includes $8.8 billion over 10 years to invest in housing-enabling infrastructure, helping to reduce development charges, lower the cost of building new homes, and get shovels in the ground.
We’re also moving forward on key transit projects, including: • Waterfront East Transit in Toronto
• Expanded GO service across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region • High-speed rail planning between Toronto and Quebec City • Major GTHA projects like the Ontario Line and Eglinton Crosstown West Extension
This is about building more, faster, and protecting Ontario by creating the conditions to stay competitive, create jobs, and grow strong communities despite global economic uncertainty.
A big step toward making housing more affordable and keeping Ontario moving forward.

#ONBudget2026 is ready.
This morning at Treasury Board, we prepared for the release of the budget this afternoon, which will outline our plan to protect Ontario and build for the future.
The world has changed, and we have a plan to Protect Ontario - we are securing our economy, boosting our competitiveness, and investing in the key sectors that define the future. Tune in on March 26 as I table Ontario’s 2026 Budget, an outline of our plan to Protect Ontario today and build the province we want tomorrow.
Thank you @Empire_Club for your partnership and for hosting me!
#ONBudget2026!
Ontario ranked #1 in the world for lowest mining investment risk.
Out of 120 jurisdictions, we earned a rare AA rating, with five Canadian provinces in the global top six.
As global demand for critical minerals accelerates, Ontario has emerged as a reliable partner with a serious plan to build mines faster.

Canada is united in our push to host the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank and there’s no better city for it to call home than Canada’s financial capital, Toronto.
Tonight, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to end tariffs on Canada. An important victory with more work ahead. Thank you to every member from both parties who stood up in support of free trade and economic growth between our two great countries. Let’s end the tariffs and together build a more prosperous and secure future.
