@Logo_Daedalus I don’t know too much about this, which is why I recently ordered this book. To me what you’re saying sounds like the apophatic theology of the orthodox, the essence / energy distinction. God is unknowable but simultaneously has revealed himself to us through his son.

@jaydyer In this passage it reads like he’s criticizing that tendency, saying it should be “viewed with apprehension”, no? Seems like a critique rather than a promotion. But, I think his overall project cannot escape the tendancy of ‘satanism’ or lucifarianism he is critiquing.
