Morning!
So, I have been radio silent for far too long.
I was derailed at the beginning of the semester and have struggled to get back on track. In the meantime I've given this account and what I'm trying to do some deep thought
Morning!
So, I have been radio silent for far too long.
I was derailed at the beginning of the semester and have struggled to get back on track. In the meantime I've given this account and what I'm trying to do some deep thought
With that said, I'm letting this account go dark. Permanent? Temporary? I have no idea. But I am putting in a lot of effort for zero ROI. It's disheartening, but is what it is
Morning #AcademicTwitter! It's still ishy on this end of the screen. Not sure what I'll be able to accomplish this week. I'll do my best, but no guarantees!
Good morning #AcademicTwitter! Some personal stuff got in the way of me doing a proper update here and today's looking a bit sketchy too, so I'm taking the long weekend to regroup. See you Tuesday!
Good morning #AcademicTwitter! Somehow I lost a day this week (seems to be a trend in this house offline). With that said, let's do a little rhetorical analysis and argumentative essay talk today!
The hardest part of that cycle for me was the peer review. That's where all my flaws were laid bare and to me that was Big Time Embarrassing (oh, hai anxiety!). Yet this is such an essential step. Getting fresh eyes on your work will catch things you're immune to
That's another thing that I didn't wrap my head around right way: #AcademicWriting is cyclical. I understood that on a base level -- draft, review, edit/revise, final -- but it never occurred to me that it's okay to get stuck in a draft/edit/revise loop

Think of prewriting as a way to work thru the bugs, get the initial crap out of the way so that you go into your first draft with a clearer idea of what you're writing about. You can tweak things as you draft. But if you don't have a starting place, you're making things hard
I had such a love/hate relationship with prewriting. I had been conditioned to believe it's only the formal outline. There's so much more! And (and this blew my mind) I wasn't bound to my prewriting
Good morning #AcademicTwitter! While I can't account for anywhere else, it's a scorcher again here today so remember to stay hydrated! I'll be looking at Audience, Purpose and Organization later today!
Good morning #AcademicTwitter! Hope you're ready! This week kicks off Audience, Purpose, and Organization; Prewriting Strategies and drafting/revision; Rhetorical Analysis; and Argumentative Essays. It's a lot, but sets the whole foundation for #ResearchWriting. Let's go!
The topics I plan on covering weekly this semester are:
* Audience, Purpose, Organization, Prewriting, Drafting/Revision, Rhet Analysis, Arguments
* Thesis statements
* Research writing and citation
