The Power Department did a remarkable job dealing with the outages caused by the recent snowfall in the valley. These numbers tell the complete story. The supply of electricity dipped drastically between the hours of 4 AM & 10 AM as the system was hit by the snow. From 10 AM the demand starts recovering as the system was brought back online & the damage repaired. Kudos to @kpdclofficial for their work on the ground.
Out of fortyone 33KV feeders dysfunctional in Kashmir due to heavy snowfall, thirty seven have been restored and charged.
Similarly, out of 739 dysfunctional 11KV feeders,
639 have been restored and recharged, bringing a major relief to the valley.
The majority of the rest are expected to be restored by the evening.
Kudos to the PDD team for their relentless efforts in this snow fall in such a short time

I drove from Jammu to Srinagar today. It snowed continuously from Banihal to Srinagar. The conditions were quite treacherous. I understand there are around 2000 vehicles stuck between the tunnel & Qazigund. My office has been in touch with the administration in South Kashmir. While snow clearance has been done the road is very icy. Heavy vehicles are being allowed to move & efforts are on to clear the rest of the stranded vehicles.
