@dbnewsjournal I was there 2 weeks ago on family business. I grew up in FL. I purposely avoided restaurants, didn't purchase a temporary fishing license, and tried to keep my dollars in my pocket. Fascist Florida won't get my cash.
In poll after poll, and despite biggest disruption in a century due to COVID, parents OVERWHELMINGLY satisfied with their public schools https://t.co/7Ujs4yRfnw #ksleg#ksed
@KansasYRs On brand for a party dedicated to worshiping rootin-tootin, gun-toting, eradication of anything that doesn't fit their vision of America and would appropriate an animal nearly eradicated by white colonizers along with an entire civilization of humans. #ksleg
#ksleg violating the Gannon ruling by freezing base state with an annual adjustment takes us back to the costly cycle of litigation. But, I suppose the legislators who are behind this don't really care much about that.
Under SB 113 as agreed to by the education conference committee the base state increase would be dependent on legislative approval every year. The effect is that it could diminish the inflationary increase.
🚨#ksed, SB 113 as approved by conference committee VIOLATES GANNON by essentially freezing BASE aid unless #ksleg annually approves increase. Contact your Rep, Senator now to urge them to kill this “budget” bill on the floor!
Kristey Williams suggests districts and associations opposed teacher pay increases in VOUCHER bill. FALSE. We opposed the #ksleg telling districts how to use existing money. No new money was appropriated for increase. #redherring#misinformation
Tim Graham, KNEA, opposes SB 66, says potential of placing individuals in classroom without rigorous training opens schools to potential risks #ksleg#ksed
Opponent to SB 66 includes AFT-Kansas Ron Hobert says political interference has created unfavorable work environment for teachers. He says listen to teachers and you’ll be able to recruit and retain teachers #ksleg#ksed
#ksleg Sen Ed hearing on SB66 allowing teachers from other states to step into Kansas classrooms. Why do we continue to try to solve a teacher shortage by reducing standards rather than improving working conditions, pay, and respect for professionals who work in our classrooms?
Rep Kristy Williams is a master of conflating issues and funding. It helps when you have ZERO understanding of what it means to teach in a modern classroom, and you care nothing about the truth. #ksleg
