🔎 UPDATE - MISSING CHILD 🔍

We continue to ask for the public’s help in locating Parker, 11, and are releasing an additional photo and more information about his possible whereabouts.

Parker was last seen shirtless, wearing grey shorts, black Skechers and black noise-cancelling headphones. We are asking residents in northwest Calgary, particularly in and around Cambrian Heights, to thoroughly check their back yards, unlocked sheds and other places where a child may seek shelter or hide.

📍 He was last seen at his day home in the 0 to 100 block of Connaught Drive N.W. sometime between 11:08 and 11:41 a.m., today, Thursday, July 16, 2026. Articles of clothing believed to belong to Parker were found around noon in the 0 to 100 block of Northmount Drive N.W.

After exhausting all investigative avenues to locate Parker, investigators are turning to the public for their help. Parker suffers from a medical condition and officers, and his family are concerned for his safety and well-being.

🔍 Parker is described as 4’11” tall, weighing approximately 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

There is nothing to indicate foul play is involved. Although this case does not meet the threshold of an Amber Alert, we are working with our partners at the Missing Children’s Society of Canada to issue an alert in hopes of locating Parker.

Every day this month, I am looking at the spooky stories of Canada's history.

Today, it is the Deanne House in Calgary!

In 1906, Captain Richard Deane, the superintendent of Fort Calgary, had a home built for his wife Martha on the grounds of the fort.
Sadly, Martha died shortly after the home was completed.

In 1914, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway tore down all the fort buildings except the Deane House.
It became a boarding house, where it had a dark history.

In 1933, a 14-year-old boy ended his life in the attack due to bullying.

Alex Brotherton, who bought the home in the 1930s, died in the home in 1968.

In 1971, Roderick Umperville stabbed and straggled his wife Irma there, then ended his life in the home.

With that history, the home is one of the most haunted in Calgary.
There is a phone that will ring in the home even though it is not connected to any wiring. Voices and footsteps are also heard in the home.

In the attack there are reportedly blood stains that change size and colour. A bloodstain is also near a closet that won't stay locked. No matter what staff does to lock it, it always unlocks.

Three decades ago, a psychic went into the home and described the experience as terrifying.

The smell of cigar smoke is common, and an antique piano will play itself sometimes.
There are also reports of dark apparitions missing legs, floating down stairs.

There is also a ghost of an Indigenous man who has been seen haunting the home.

The home is now a restaurant.

Today in 1934, Ken Taylor was born in Calgary.
As the Canadian Ambassador to Iran, he was instrumental in the Canadian Caper, which helped six Americans escape from Iran in 1979.
He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his efforts.
He died in 2015.
