Good morning, the proposed updates to gas and water rates are meant to help fund infrastructure improvements, not to purchase natural gas. The proposal also includes larger percentage increases for commercial and industrial customers than for residential customers, and a new rate structure for data centers that will increase their water rates by 30%. Thank you.
Think about your morning routine. You get up, turn on the coffee maker and fill the pot with water. Maybe you fire up the stove for eggs and bacon. The electricity, the water, the gas - they must be affordable AND reliable. That is why MLGW is asking for rate increases in water and gas. Investments help keep our infrastructure reliable today and ready for tomorrow. The proposed increase will not affect all customers the same way. Click here for details: https://t.co/MwrLncvuVe.

#MLGW uses drone pilots to inspect overhead electric equipment. It is a more efficient way to assess our infrastructure so we can get in and make repairs/replace equipment. Working like this has helped us cut the number of outages in the Orange Mound area by around 50%! Drone pilots work M-F during regular business hours; they carry ID and drive vehicles that say "MLGW contractor" on the side. Customers call call 544-6549 to verify an MLGW drone pilot is working in their neighborhood.
