I did not realize that there was a Closed Captione role in Bb Collaborate. Thank you for sharing this. It will be useful to all students, including those with hearing impairments. I say all students, because my 14-year-old likes to use the captions..she has no hearing concern.

Meeting peers in collaborate was a great experience today. During our conversation I learned that instructors could text students using software for talk/texting and they would not have to share their personal phone numbers. I began to do research about this.

We need to really examine the protocols for using any type of social media platform in our courses and verify it's use against the policies for our schools. Guidelines are so significant for modeling the appropriate way to use the internet for students and staff.

My take away from Module 3 is that I didn't really know what a Wikki was, but I have used it all the time. I asked my 14 year old daughter if she knew what it was...and she gave me the "dah..yeah...You didn't know what it was?"
I learned it's useful tool for group work.

#cnmtlol My take-away from the discussions, and articles this week is to be "adventurous." We need to continue to find new ways of engaging our students. It's more than just uploading a video; or audio clip. Everything has a purpose and must keep pulling them to "check-in."
