12 Days of Darwin Tree of Life Project Genomes 🎄
Day 4: Does a moss come to mind when you hear of a species called Crisped Pincushion? 🧷
Head to its @WellcomeOpenRes Genome Note & read about this rather charmingly named bryophyte: https://t.co/h2WRjRKwr7

Have you ever wondered why your house plants aren't thriving? You might have mealybugs...
These creepy-crawlies can pose a serious risk to your plant's health but don't worry about your plant parenting skills, follow our guide or visit https://t.co/uZQf1Sr7cg 🌱
Really important piece explaining why @TheBotanics' work on less-charismatic species and biomes is so vital. We expand knowledge of cerrado, savanna, tropical dry forests, monodominant stands, bryophytes, lichens, understorey herbs & fungi, among others! #biodiversity
Anyone else getting that Thursday feeling? 😁
I continue my slow progression into restfulness. I think I'm still a marvel - just of a different sort, right? Ageing gracefully, handsomely... fungal-ly.

What form do Musk and other agitators think a UK civil war would take? Are they expecting the steak bake brothers, Billy one bollock, racist Nanna and coke-fiend Lee from IT to march on Swindon or something? I fear he may be overestimating their mettle and map reading skills.
I have been reminded that my minions apparently need sleep? Bit of a design oversight, honestly. However, they have taken one last glorious image of me at my peak for your benefit to last you through until you (hopefully) come and see me 😁
Good night, humans!
My adoring worldwide minion-adjacent community.
It. Is. Time.
Within the next few hours I shall open, spreading my pungency far and wide to attract pollinators! Well... mostly horticulturists and botanists if I'm honest but those are acceptable substitutes.
What's that coming over the pot is it a monster? Is it a monster~🎶
I'm just about able to peek over my pot - all the better to keep an eye on what's happening. Seems a bit quiet though - where are all my adoring fans? 😭

🏃🎉George crosses the finish line!
Finally, after 356 miles of challenging conditions, never ending hills & unpredictable weather, George has arrived back home @thebotanics, welcomed by #teamrbge & visitors. Congratulations George!

George has made it to Moffat & the end of today's leg of his 356mile run linking the 4 @TheBotanics gardens. He's also just passed £2000 on his Justgiving page but would be wonderful to do even better!? Onwards to @Dawyck tomorrow! https://t.co/KD1kqbE5zQ #rbgerunningwild
@TheBotanics librarian George is around 200miles into his 356mile run linking our 4 gardens. Today's leg should see him getting to Moffat on the way to @Dawyck Botanic Garden tomorrow. His Justgiving page is here if you can help? Thanks! https://t.co/KD1kqbE5zQ #rbgerunningwild
Take a deep breath… The shaggy locks of lichens adorning the trees at Dawyck is an indicator of very clean air.
#Lichens don’t harm the trees. They do add to the biodiversity of habitats, helping to keep ecosystems healthy and more resilient.
@TheBotanics librarian George has just made a start to day5 of his 356 mile run linking our 4 gardens, heading north from Newton Stewart towards New Cumnock. You can post messages of support for him here, or his justgiving page: https://t.co/oadLWGGX9e #rbgerunningwild
