🌦️ Scattered showers this afternoon, these heavy and frequent for some of us, with longer spells of rain in northern Scotland

🌤️ A lot of cloud in general but occasional bright or sunny spells are likely

🌬️ Breezy at times with temperatures around average for July

⚠️ A wet evening to come across much of Northern Ireland with slow-moving downpours and thunderstorms

🌧️ Persistent and at times heavy rain in Scotland too and further wet weather returning to southwestern parts of the UK later

Eagle-eyed councillors Stuart McKenzie & Dianne Alexander met an unusual staff member at at fact-finding trip to a factory. The Cabinet Members for housing & commercial operations, were greeted by a Harrier Hawk. The 2-year-old predator is employed to scare seagulls away.

Plenty of warm, late evening sunshine on offer across much of England and Wales ☀️

Cloud and spots of rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland will move northwards leaving some clear spells later 🌙

🌂 Showers will gradually ease, though some will linger on for western coastal districts

🌧️ A damp evening in the south as rain spreads eastwards, turning heavy in the far southeast with strong winds

🌕 Showers easing elsewhere with clearer skies developing further north and west

Although it maybe feeling fresher today the sun is still strong with high or very high levels of UV across the UK

Increase in cloud cover will reduce levels to moderate for most tomorrow, but remember even on cloudy days you can still get sun burn on unprotected skin
