Relieved to learn that Hon. Miria Matembe has been granted bail following her abduction last week. It remains a shame that Matembe, a 73-year-old grandmother with an unblemished record of public service, had to suffer this ordeal in the first place!
Remember, Matembe was subjected to this ordeal because she bruised the fragile ego of Muhoozi Kainerugaba -- the dictator's infantile son -- when she criticized him. It really takes special cowardice for an army commander approaching 60 years of old age to flex State power on a defenceless grandmother whose courage he can never match in 100 lifetimes.
More shameful, the regime that practices sectarianism openly charged Matembe with "Promoting Sectarianism."
Imagine the very regime that breathes and practises sectarianism, claiming the moral authority to prosecute those who expose its sectarianism!
We shall have to unite and find a lasting solution for these blood-thirsty tyrants!
Dear Maama Miria Matembe,
I stand with you in this dark and painful moment.
The harassment you and other women are facing from a childish coward masquerading as a general does not diminish your courage or dignity, it only exposes his weakness and moral bankruptcy.
The world is watching, and one day he will be held to account for his atrocities against the people of Uganda.
God be with you Maama.

You deserve all the unconditional love and unreserved support because that’s what you sowed, we thank God for the sisterhood. You’re the human definition of resilience and have given us strength, hope and reason to hold on.
I still vividly remember the moment everything I had built over the years collapsed. The day every part of my life fell apart simultaneously.
My life got formatted and everything that I had carefully crafted just crumbled before my own eyes. A fundamental reconstruction, a total overhaul of everything I knew happened in the blink of an eye. In that moment, everything I had built my identity on melted through my fingers. My soul died!
For three months, I have been facing the chaos of transformation. This has not happened in isolation. I have experienced unconditional love, and unreserved support. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and can’t seem to know who I am anymore! The bitter/sweet part of all this is that I will never be the same again. I have experienced pure sisterhood and I got to experience firsthand the true meaning of unreserved support. In the chaos of fundamental change, I have learnt to love more and in many aspects, I am different.
@BarbieItungoK You deserve all the unconditional love and unreserved support because that’s what you sowed, we thank God for the sisterhood. You’re the human definition of resilience and have given us strength and reason to hold on.
Upon hearing about your demise, I was in misbelief and hoped it is fake news. It broke my heart knowing it was true and since then I failed to find the right words, it’s just anger and pain, it’s worse as the world bids you farewell today. It shouldn’t be you @nakimuli_helen. RIP
Fellow Ugandans,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our dear sister and comrade, Edith Katende Mufumbiro, the wife of our Deputy Spokesperson, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Edith passed on after 3:00am today following a hard-fought battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, her dear husband Waiswa remains detained at Luzira Upper Prison for no crime whatsoever. His only crime is speaking out against injustice and misrule.
The criminal regime placed on him and others the sham charge of "Unlawful Drilling" which apparently took place on 12th February 2025 at our Party Headquarters. In fact, on that day, Waiswa never stepped there as he was at Mulago Cancer Institute with the wife! The judiciary, fully aware of these facts, has chosen to conspire in this persecution.
Waiswa, alongside other comrades, has applied for bail severally. He has variously made an impassioned plea to the Court to be released on bail so that he takes care of his sick wife, but it has been denied. The injustice!
As difficult as it is, we remain hopeful that we shall overcome some day. May God grant the family, especially our brother Waiswa, the strength he needs at this time.
I celebrated a whole 31 years alive yesterday. I survived the 30th, beautifully and boldly. Most grateful to the people that believe, love and cheer me without bounds. To thriving the 31st.
