From filing and voting for the passage of meaningful bills and resolutions, representing the marginalized sectors, preparing for the impeachment as a member of the House Prosecution Panel, and attending committee meetings, among others, patuloy nating ginagampanan ang mandatong ipinagkatiwala sa atin ng taumbayan.

As public servants, we have obligations to our countrymen, and we must fulfill every single one of them. There is work to be done, constitutional mandates to fulfill, and accountability to uphold. In short: We've "gotta catch 'em all." 💯

Delivered a privilege speech earlier today to recognize the invaluable contributions of our fisherfolk nationwide and bring attention to the many challenges they continue to face. We call on Congress to enact further legislation and concrete actions that recognizes our fisherfolk as rights-holders, not as recipients of the State's generosity, but as citizens to whom it owes a duty.

Pag-iwas pa rin sa trial ang pinakabuod ng Answer ni VP Sara. Sila itong hindi nagpakita at nagpaliwanag sa mga pagdinig sa Kamara, at ngayon naman ay pinadidismiss nila sa Senado ang impeachment case nang hindi pa man lang napakikinggan ang mga testigo at mga ebidensya. Allergic o takot lang ba talaga siyang humarap sa proseso ng pananagutan?

Huwag niyang balewalain ang Konstitusyon. The Constitution says the Senate shall “try and decide”. Trial muna bago hatol. Paglilitis, hindi dismiss-dismiss.

Once and for all, harapin nya ang impeachment at sagutin ang mabibigat na paratang. Huwag niyang ipagkait sa taumbayan ang katotohanan at pananagutan.

Makatarungang reporma sa pagbubuwis, isabatas! ✊

In our current taxation system, many consumption taxes burden the majority of the population and heavily impact the poor and the middle class.

Government interventions are necessary to address the widening inequality brought about by massive economic disruptions and systemic failures.

Through our House Bill No. 9274, we seek to impose an annual ultra-wealth tax on billionaires or the ultra-rich. Ang malilikom na pondo mula rito, eksklusibong ilalaan sa serbisyong pangkalusugan, pangkabuhayan, edukasyon, pabahay at suporta sa LGU.

Batid din natin na ang middle class, tuloy-tuloy man sa pagbabayad ng buwis, hindi naman kadalasang nakatatanggap ng ayuda sa panahon ng krisis o mga di-inaasahang pangyayari.

That is why we are also pushing for the passage of HB 9172 to ease the burden on low- and lower-middle-income earners by increasing the income tax exemption ceiling for individual taxpayers from P250,000 to P480,000 annually. 

Tuloy ang laban natin para sa makatarungan at inklusibong pagbubuwis at sa pagtiyak na ginagamit ang pondo ng bayan sa mga serbisyong may tunay na pakinabang sa mga Pilipino.

✅ House Bill (HB) No. 9002 - Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative (CASURECO II) 

✅ HB 9003 - Camarines Norte Electric Cooperative (CANORECO)

✅ HB 9005 - Camarines Sur I Electric Cooperative (CASURECO I)

By approving these measures, we affirm our support for three essential electric cooperatives that serve as the lifeblood of some areas in the Bicol region. They have proven their capacity and unwavering commitment to serve our fellow Bicolanos with resolve and dedication. 

Umaasa din tayo na maisasalang na rin at maipapasa ang renewal ng prangkisa ng CASURECO III, covering the City of Iriga at mga munisipalidad ng Baao, Balatan, Bato,  Buhi, Bula, at Nabua. 

Patuloy po ang ating laban para sa abot-kaya at mapagkakatiwalaang serbisyo ng kuryente.

We salute the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for defending and asserting that what is ours is ours. Salamat sa paninindigan na ang sa Pilipinas ay sa Pilipinas; na hindi tayo magwawalang-kibo sa panghihimasok ng dayuhan sa ating sariling bakuran.

Amid China’s continued intrusions, we should continue strengthening our partnership with regional allies to preserve and defend the rules-based international order, especially when it comes to enforcing the law of the sea.

We also call on our colleagues in both chambers of Congress to pass our proposed “Revised Philippine Coast Guard Law” to bolster the capabilities of the PCG through vital policy and organizational reforms.

How convenient it is for some people to use me or what I went through as an example whenever it serves their purpose or agenda. Kahit fake news, kahit ibang-iba ang totoong nangyari at naging sitwasyon ko noon, ipipilit pa rin para lang umakma sa naratibo nila.

Nung una, ang sinabi, hindi raw ako nagpa-aresto sa Senate premises. Maliwanag na kasinungalingan yan dahil sa Senado ako mapayapang humarap at nagpa-aresto sa mga awtoridad. Hindi ako nagpakanlong sa Senado, hindi ako nagdulot ng gulo, hindi ako tumakas, at lalong hindi ko inilagay sa peligro ang buhay ng maraming tao.

Now, they cite the resolutions filed by my fellow Senators during my unjust incarceration to allow me to participate in committee hearings and plenary deliberations via teleconferencing. Those were never approved. Kahit nga may COVID-19 pandemic noon kung kailan na-amend na ang rules to allow teleconferencing, di pa rin ako pinayagan. More importantly, no railroading or shortcuts to amend the Senate rules were resorted to in order to accommodate that request which, I repeat, was never granted. Malinaw yan kaya tigil-tigilan nila ang pagkukumpara.

Mahiya at kilabutan naman ang mga nagsasabing magkapareho lang ang pinagdaanan ko sa sinuman na gusto nilang pagbigyan ngayon.

The people’s right to information has long been fiercely championed by our fellow Liberal Party lawmakers in previous Congresses. Ngayon, ipinagpapatuloy natin ang laban na ito sa pamamagitan ng House Bill No. 2897, na ngayon ay substituted bilang House Bill No. 9397.

Mahigit tatlong dekada nang nakabinbin ang pagpasa ng napakahalagang panukalang batas na ito.

Sa panahon ngayon na laganap ang korapsyon, fake news, disinformation, at tumitindi pa ang kawalan ng tiwala ng publiko sa mga institusyon, kailangan ng gobyernong bukas, tapat, at may pananagutan.

Ang pagsasabatas ng panukalang ito ay isang malaking hakbang tungo sa panunumbalik ng tiwala ng taumbayan sa pamahalaan.

Hindi dapat manatiling “unfinished business” ang repormang pansakahan. Tuparin ang ipinangako; ibigay ang nararapat para sa mga benepisyaryo ng repormang agraryo!

We will be filing a House Resolution calling the House Committee on Agrarian Reform and all concerned Committees to conduct a comprehensive inquiry in aid of legislation on the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (CARPER), and the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling or SPLIT Project, and to ensure that the rights of our farmers are protected, not betrayed.

To our farmers and to the families across the country who have waited a lifetime for a piece of land they could call their own: Hindi po kayo nag-iisa.

Kung pigang-piga na ang mga binubuwisan tulad ng ating mga middle class na nagkakandakuba na sa pagtatrabaho pero kulang na kulang pa rin ang pantustos sa mga bayarin, tungkulin ng gobyerno na pagaanin ang kanilang pasanin.

Joint Congressional Commission on Justice System Reform (JCCJSR) Bill, aprubado na sa Committee level! ⚖️

In establishing the JCCJSR, a comprehensive review of the justice sector’s institutional capacity will be conducted. The assessment will recommend reforms to improve efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the sector.

Sa pagsasabatas ng panukala nating ito, mapapabilis ang imbestigasyon, prosekusyon at mga paglilitis sa korte, kabilang ang mga kasong kinasasangkutan ng mga tiwaling opisyal ng gobyerno.

Ang pagtanggap natin sa hamon bilang House Prosecutor ay hindi para sa paghihiganti o vendetta.

Tulad ng lagi nating paninindigan at ipinaglalaban, para ito sa pananagutan at katotohanan; para sa hustisya sa mga pamilya at biktima ng extrajudicial killings sa ilalim ng pekeng War on Drugs ng nakaraang administrasyon.

Amid pressing issues and local opposition, the Boracay Bridge Project must be thoroughly reviewed.

Concerns have been raised on the potential socio-economic effects of the project, including the displacement of workers and operators dependent on the existing water transport system between Caticlan and Boracay, disruption of established livelihood systems, and adverse effects on community-based economic structures that support thousands of Aklanon families.

Sa bawat proyekto, hindi pwedeng ma-etsapuwera ang kalikasan at komunidad. Sila dapat ang prayoridad.
