Are you negotiating a payment plan with a debt collector?

If you and the debt collector can’t agree on a payment plan, the debt collector could file a lawsuit against you. If they win and get a court judgment against you, they could garnish your wages... 1/4

You can then try to negotiate for regular payments that are lower than what the debt collector could garnish if they get a court judgment against you. Be sure to get any agreement in writing before you make a payment. 3/4
