@DanielcHooper suxx too, cos he's a great designer. his version of The Promise is vastly superior to the amateurish design of the original, and highlights Blow's consideration of player inference as challenge (in a particular way).
@DanielcHooper hell, the fact that the 'dexterity' barrier that 'critic' gave years back is something Blow considers legit criticism; when I think it potentially blocks off more engaging real-time puzzle potential.
@pikuma timeline seeking with screen capture above the timeline; the option to scroll through video thumbnails on channel page as opposed to playlist being default; but mostly, its just the general UI.
most especially, not having the bright white light blaring from my monitor.
@OasisSakurai my best run is getting halfway through stage 2. not too sure where my issues are. i feel like I have a good sense of reading the entire second half of the screen, but I dunno.
@Pichukulele its the japanese sensibility. there are so many US games that import badly stretched, badly decompressed png files in the most unappealing styles imaginable.
@MeekinOnMovies@Jonathan_Blow@pmarca I love Tim's video, but that was more what Doom represented as a cultural product of its time through the (very) narrow lens of one (very) American man; ambitious - as its very easy to veer into insufferable maudlin trash - but in no way an informative view.
@nygma0451 its a game more in the inti creates style akin to MM:Zero; and I enjoy MN9 more than it. visuals are still bad tho - outside of some stuff like the dash animation.
@herit01@JezziiB I mean come on dood -- why would you even hope (pray) for someone to suffer through that. besides, those with eyes to see cannot in good faith that the infinite dearth of blind randomness is in no way attributable to the strive of a creatures reach towards heaven.
@Dark_Goldenrod@valigo the added convenience would be nice, but yea; C is an analogue with some minor conveniences/inconveniences of ASM. do you simply pass size, interface with delimiters, or depend on modulo? case dependent on the three plus other variants; or something else entirely?
@Radshyguy I've gotten past magicant in the nes version, & lost the file w/my psp. as a DQ1 fan, I enjoyed my time with it, but the art is lacking to go back. enjoy encore as well, but would be nice to have a faithful remake with improved NES style art; SNES remake ain't doin it for me tbh.
