I always wanted to see this day come true. A dream that was on paper four years ago with just 12 pages proposal presented to the top management of @SIMADUniversity has now turned out to be one of the finest and most well-equipped innovation hubs in Somalia.
I congratulate the youth selected for the @US2SOMALIA Embassy Youth Council. As the former Director of @ACMogadishu, I have seen firsthand the impactful youth intervention work led by the embassy’s public diplomacy section. Keep up the great work!
We held our first meeting with the U.S. Embassy Youth Council on April 12. It was encouraging to hear directly from young Somalis about their perspectives and priorities. I was impressed by their commitment to their communities and seeing Somalia a better nation for all.

Honored to be received by H.E. President @HassanSMohamud after formally handing over my responsibilities as the Director of Communications at the @TheVillaSomalia Presidency.
I thanked the President for entrusting me with the responsibility to serve my people at the highest level. I also listened to his wise counsel on continuing to work and strive for the betterment of our country.
I extend my gratitude to my colleagues for the good and challenging times we shared. Rest assured, those are the memories I will always cherish as I move on to the next chapter.
Thank you to the Somali youth. It was an incredible evening to share insights from my 20 years of digital experience in Somalia, and how those lessons can be replicated and scaled through national initiatives.
I’ll host a town hall meeting this Saturday in Mogadishu for the youth. We wanna take on a challenge to make Somalia a digital hub for global business processes outsourcing (BPO). A multi-stakeholder approach to create job opportunities for the talented youth. See you there!
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to comeback to Mogadishu than traveling with American companies who are willing to partner with their Somali counterparts. An honor to be the Master of Ceremony for the US-Somalia Presidential Trade Forum (@USSomaliTrade).
Announcement: U.S.–Somalia Presidential Trade Forum to Convene in Mogadishu, 4–5 October 2025. A new phase in U.S.–Somalia relations anchored in trade, investment, and strategic cooperation. Here for more information: https://t.co/DWOPwaPU5O

My career began in innovation, helping young Somalis turn ideas into livelihoods. In Houston, I saw it again: trade & investment over aid. Let’s institutionalize it for Somalia 🇸🇴 - U.S. 🇺🇸 relations so we deliver for both countries: https://t.co/NYQ7L8RUWj
I didn’t expect my background in marketing and business would be at the forefront of my diplomatic role this much. Yet here I am, pitching Somalia’s energy and oil opportunities at @IMAGE_Houston.
A multi-billion dollar industry is unfolding before our eyes in Somalia. A true first-mover advantage in a frontier market, wide open for those bold enough to act. In a few years, executives will look back at this moment (and maybe tweet) and wonder why they didn’t move sooner.
Great to host alumni of various embassy-supported exchange programs on a day we are commemorating America's independence.
The U.S. supports Somalia's young emerging leaders through several educational and professional development programs.
A proud moment to represent my beloved blue nation. Grateful to the ambassadors, U.S. government representatives, Somali diaspora, and friends of Somalia in Washington, DC for joining us in the grand celebration of Somalia’s National Day on July 1st.
We hosted the 65th Independence Day celebration of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Washington, DC — bringing together U.S. officials, ambassadors, and friends of Somalia to honor our shared journey and growing partnership.
I respectfully correct my brother, Dr. Abdullahi Abib:
1️⃣ I was not Ambassador in March 2024 when the document was issued.
2️⃣ Go Home /travel documents are for Somalis stranded abroad, helping them return home safely.
Misinformation from leaders is irresponsible. Truth matters.
We deeply appreciate 🇹🇷 Türkiye’s continued support in helping #Somalia tap into its natural resources. This is not symbolic — it is real, strategic cooperation. For Somalia, sustainable development begins with knowing and owning our resource potential.
