Hannaford Simulation Center @ Maine Medical Center
@MMCSimulation
The Hannaford Center for Safety, Innovation and Simulation at Maine Medical Center offers high-tech, high-fidelity simulation to enhance training and safety.
In collaboration with our OB, NICU, Pedi and ED colleagues- the sim center is offering a workshop for pre-hospital providers during EMS week.
Sat 5/18- check it out!
Congrats to our pedi sim team training program! Interested in debriefing interprofessional groups? Check out this addition to the sim IPE literature from @SIHJournal https://t.co/aykF6qEpEM
A compelling argument for our MOMSim program- uses simulation so OB teams can deliberately practice managing HALO (high acuity low frequency) events so mothers can deliver babies in their own communities, knowing teams are ready for those rare emergencies. #simforsafety
Our @ASPE_Tweets pre-con today on #simulation#capacity and #staffing was a hit! One attendee said it was only the 2nd she's attended in 15 years that had potential to influence/change the landscape. If you're here and missed it, join thr panel discussion tomorrow! @MMCSimulation
NICU sim team on the road again to @MaineHealth Stephenβs Memorial to do some neo resuscitation training with their terrific delivery room teams. @ImPACTS_Network#simforsafety
OR fire is a rare and serious event. Our @MaineMed OB team used their quarterly team training to practice this protocol keeping mom, baby and team safe. Kudos to Susie, Beth, David, and Shelly for producing a sim opus for 72 in person and virtual IP team members! #simforsafety
Very proud of our SP lab @ASPE_Tweets in collaboration with The Gender Clinic @BBCHMaine and Dept of Fam Med to improve inclusive communication skills for LGBTQ+ patients π³οΈβπ
Special thanks to the LGBTQ+ identifying members of our SP pool who thoughtfully invested in co-creation of this curriculum, super βοΈ @TuftsMedSchool Maine track student Rachel Kupferman and Brandy Brown MSW for each first authoring an abstract!
Congrats to Psych resident Emma Millard who won the Himmelfarb Research prize for her work creating and evaluating sim (SP)-based training of IM and Psych residents for managing agitated patients! #LambrewRetreat @LindsayMallar @ASPE_Tweets#wpvprevention
Congrats to the Sepsis team, presenting their work using Interprofessional sim-based team training to improve early recognition and treatment of sepsis. #LambrewRetreat@MaineMed
Dr. Hayman presenting work done in collaboration with @LindsayMallar and our SP program, funded by an @AAMCtoday grant on how to best train interprofessional healthcare students to collaborate combat health misinformation. #lambrewretreat
