Yesterday Mitcham lost one of its finest - the effervescent and optimistic bundle of joy that was Christine Kelly ( known to all as Tot) She will be so sadly missed by her family, friends and by all to who she gave a cheery word. Mitcham will be a sadder place at losing her.
In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial.
Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope.
Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen.

We’re delighted that the government has awarded St Helier Hospital and Epsom £12m.
But we know more will need to be done in our fight to keep A&E services at St Helier.
You can be confident that whoever is in government, Merton Labour will fight to keep St Helier Hospital open.
We want A&E, maternity and ICU services to remain at St Helier Hospital.
Any new hospital should be built on the St Helier site, not in healthy, wealthy Belmont.
It’s a wrap! Final @MMLabour canvassing session of the year! Thank you to the whole team and especially to all the residents of the Garth Road area for the conversation. We’ll be back in January!
Thanks @LeonieC for giving us an informative update on the work of the GLA, we heard a lot about the hard work she and our @MayorofLondon do. Thanks also to @Siobhain_Mc for providing a briefing on the Budget and facilitating a fascinating discussion
After years of campaigning, Morden Tube Station will finally get toilet provision, boosting transport accessibility in Merton!
This is a huge win for local residents, disabled & elderly travellers 👉https://t.co/4642qvOP1n
2 @MMLabour teams in Lower Morden today! Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all the residents we spoke to. Support as always to keep all services @epsom_sthelier and not move them to healthy, wealthy Belmont at a cost to the UK taxpayer of half a billion ££
This is Courtney and her daughter at Motspur Park Railway Station today. She gave the thumbs up to the new lift and told me it would make for a better journey all round. Thanks to @Merton_Council@South_railway@networkrail for yet another step free transport hub in Merton.
Labour's Renters' Reform Bill will support the 1 in 4 Merton residents renting privately and build on our local record of:
🏠 Beginning to build the first council homes in a generation
📜 Protecting renters through landlord licensing
🏗️ Boosting affordable housing across Merton
Come along to Lillie's Tearoom for its grand opening on 9th November in honour of Lillie Clack who was tragically killed in a road accident. Her mother Debbie opened the tearoom to raise funds for a bereavement charity - let's show our support for this worthy cause
Thanks to all in Lower Morden who signed our #SaveStHelier petition this weekend, we’re lucky to have such a passionate MP @Siobhain_Mc and Labour councillors Sally Kenny and James Williscroft who will continue to advocate for the hospital to stay in Morden!
