I had an abortion in 2000.
I had spent 18 mo trying to get pregnant. I was so excited to be a mom!
Two months in, I was sitting in the living room and I felt a gush of blood. I called the Dr. He said to stay calm and wait and see.
Soon it wasn't just watery blood. It was clots the size of a sliver dollar, cramps that knocked me to my knees, blood everywhere, panic attacks and lightheadedness.
More ultra sounds and there was still a heartbeat. I wasn't ready to give in. But after two weeks I was so tired. My body was trying to support a pregnancy and at the same time support ME! This is what pro lifers don't get. We are hosts. And as the host goes, so does the fetus!
Finally my Dr. called it. You are my patient. Not the fetus. You will have other children if you do this now. If you don't, you could die. I had a D&C.
My 2 sons are happy, healthy successful men.
And I am still alive.

“In a 2018 study, researchers observed two different toddler play settings - one with 16 toys and the other with only 4.
What they found was that the children presented with fewer options actually engaged more deeply in play.”

Read my lips. 👀
As babies learn to speak, they use more than just their ears to learn about the sounds we are making.
They also use their eyes, studying how subtle movements and different mouth shapes produce a variety of sounds - and then working to emulate what they see.
Here’s a cool example.
Watch as this dad whistles for his daughter. After a few examples, she gives it a try - pursing her lips and vocalizing a high pitched squeak.
What an amazing observer!
It’s a great reminder of the importance of face-to-face interaction.
Get up close and talk with your baby. Your face is teaching valuable lessons.

Finland's amazing childcare policies (0-7yrs), as shown in this film, were started in a time of economic crisis. 'How do we build a good society?' politicians asked. 'Do our best for our little children,' they decided.

“We are balancing so much &
we’re exhausted.
Ultimately, the real victims of our over-stressed & over-stretched world are children, & knowing this sad fact only adds to the guilt already felt by parents”

Children in care have criminal records for taking food from the kitchen, in their care homes, after hours just because they were hungry. Believe it, it's still happening. Imagine your parents calling the police on you because you took food from the fridge? It wouldn't happen. But it does in some residential settings. Making care experience a protected characteristic will bring about change to our legal system and stop vulnerable young people in care from being prosecuted just for being in care.
If you’re working in an organisation and your CEO makes tea and coffee for the workers. You’re absolutely going to follow that type of leadership.
If the kettles beneath you for the worker, then your leadership is not respect driven IMO. #LeadershipValues
Evidence suggests that 50% of Scottish prisoners have been in care!
What is prison, other than another form of social rejection for people who got the message young, that the world doesn’t want them!
No place to call home 😔
