Bobby Cox was easily my favorite visiting team manager. Every time he saw me during Spring Training, he’d smile and say, “Hey T, how’s it going in Melbourne? How’s the housing market?”

As a kid, you never really realize how much small moments with people can stay with you forever. But the fact that one of the greatest managers in baseball history always took the time to make me as a batboy feel remembered and important is something I’ll never forget.

RIP to a true baseball legend, but an even better human being!
