మీ సుపుత్రుడు మహేంద్ర యూనివర్సిటీ లో తోటి విద్యార్థులను చితకబాదినప్పుడు మీరు దర్జాగా వెనకేసుకొచ్చారు..ఆనాడే మీ పరువు మీరే తీసేసుకున్నారు.. మీ కొడుకు జీవితాన్ని మీరే నాశనం చేశారు. సమాజానికి భారంగా తయారుచేసి వదిలారు.

Many warned me, cautioned me, and were even concerned for my safety while I was reporting on the Bandi Bageerath POCSO case.

As anticipated, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, filed a defamation suit in the Vacation Bench of the City Civil Court, Hyderabad.

I am one among 100 others who reported on this very important issue.

Three of my tweets have been mentioned in the defamation suit. His counsel requested that these 100 odd links be removed from all social media platforms.

The defamation suit is for Rs 1 crore.

Bandi Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister X, was implicated in a POCSO case involving a 17 year old minor. He absconded for almost nine days before finally getting arrested/surrendered. He is currently at the Cherlapally Central Prison, Hyderabad.

For almost three days, all major legacy media companies were mum on the issue. Not a word, not even a breaking/ scroll was aired.

The entire issue got highlighted only because social media spoke about it. Now Union Minister garu is very upset that he couldn’t control the narrative on social media.

To all those who fought on this issue and got rewarded by the defamation suit, you were doing the right thing.

Those who took money and ran paid campaigns about the victim’s age to sharing her private videos to churning out sick stories on a 17 year old child - shame on you. I hope you never have children or women in your lives. If you are a woman who did it, I have no words for you.✌🏽

I hope the victim gets justice 🙏🏽

9వ రోజు మీరు స్వయంగా ప్రెస్ నోట్ విడుదల చేస్తూ “మా లాయర్లు బెయిల్ వచ్చే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయని చెప్పారు కాబట్టి అప్పటివరకు పోలీసులకు అప్పగించలేదు” అనే భావన వచ్చేలా మాట్లాడారు. కేంద్ర హోంశాఖ సహాయ మంత్రి అయిన మీకు, నిందితుడిని ఉద్దేశపూర్వకంగా దాచిపెట్టడం లేదా దర్యాప్తుకు అందుబాటులో లేకుండా ఉంచడం చట్టపరంగా తీవ్రమైన అంశమని తెలియదా?

“హిందూ యూనిటీ యాత్ర” పేరుతో కరీంనగర్‌లో సభ నిర్వహించి, “మమ్మల్ని బజారుకీడ్చిన వాళ్లందరి అంతు చూస్తా” అని మాట్లాడటం — బాధిత కుటుంబానికి మద్దతుగా నిలిచిన వారిపై పరోక్ష బెదిరింపుగా ప్రజల్లో భావన కలిగించలేదా?

ఒక సాధారణ పౌరుడి కుమారుడు ఇదే పరిస్థితిలో ఉంటే కూడా ఇదే స్థాయి “సహనం” మరియు “ప్రొసీజరల్ ఫ్లెక్సిబిలిటీ” చూపించబడేదా?

బాధిత కుటుంబం ప్రకారం వారు న్యాయం కోసం కలిసినప్పుడు అవమానించబడ్డారని చేస్తున్న ఆరోపణలపై స్పష్టత ఎందుకు లేదు?

బాధిత కుటుంబం ఫిర్యాదు ఇచ్చిన వెంటనే FIR నమోదు ఎందుకు కాలేదు?

బాలిక మైనర్ అని తెలిసిన తర్వాత కూడా ప్రారంభ దశలో ఎందుకు బేలబుల్ సెక్షన్ల కింద కేసు నమోదు చేయబడింది?

మైనర్ బాలిక ఫోటోలు, వీడియోలు, వ్యక్తిగత వివరాలు ఎలక్ట్రానిక్, ప్రింట్, సోషల్ మీడియాలో ఎలా విస్తృతంగా ప్రచారంలోకి వచ్చాయి?

మైనర్ బాలిక మరియు ఆమె కుటుంబ సభ్యులపై కౌంటర్ FIR నమోదు కావడం, దానికి సంబంధించిన వివరాలు వెంటనే మీడియాలోకి చేరడం ఇవన్నీ పూర్తిగా యాదృచ్ఛికమేనా?

ఎఫ్ ఐ ఆర్ రిజిస్టర్ అయిన 3 రోజుల తర్వాత మాత్రమే SIT ఏర్పాటు కావడానికి కారణం ఏమిటి? ఎస్ ఐ టి ఏర్పాట అయ్యేంతవరకు సరైన నాన్ బెయిలబుల్ సెక్షన్లు ఎఫ్ఐఆర్ లో ఎందుకు పెట్టలేదు?

ఈ ప్రశ్నలు రాజకీయ ద్వేషంతో వచ్చినవి కావు. ఇవి రాజ్యాంగబద్ధమైన ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో “చట్టం ముందు అందరూ సమానమేనా?” అనే మౌలిక సందేహం నుంచి వస్తున్నవి.

ఒక బాధ్యతాయుతమైన Member of Parliament గా, కేంద్ర హోంశాఖ సహాయ మంత్రిగా, మీరు ప్రజలకు ఆదర్శంగా నిలవాల్సిన స్థితిలో ఉన్నారు. అలాంటి పదవిలో ఉన్న వ్యక్తి కుటుంబానికి సంబంధించిన కేసులో: • దర్యాప్తుపై ప్రభావం చూపారనే అనుమానాలు,
అధికార దుర్వినియోగం జరిగిందనే విమర్శలు, రాజకీయ ప్రభావం ఉపయోగించబడిందనే ప్రజా భావన ఉత్పన్నమైతే, అది కేవలం రాజకీయ విషయం కాదు, ప్రజల న్యాయవ్యవస్థపై నమ్మకాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేసే అంశం.

బాధిత బాలికకు మద్దతుగా మాట్లాడిన వారిపై గ్యాగ్ ఆర్డర్లు, డిఫమేషన్ కేసులు, సోషల్ మీడియా టార్గెటింగ్ వంటి చర్యలు ప్రజాస్వామ్య చర్చను అణచివేయడానికి ఉపయోగపడకూడదు.

అత్యంత ముఖ్యంగా బాధితురాలి గుర్తింపును రక్షించడం ప్రతి ఒక్కరి చట్టబద్ధమైన బాధ్యత,
కేసులో నిజానిజాలు చివరకు కోర్టులే నిర్ణయిస్తాయి, కానీ అధికారంలో ఉన్నవారిపై ప్రశ్నలు అడగడం ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో నేరం కాదు.

చట్టం ముందు ఎవరూ పెద్దవారు కాదు. పదవి కంటే రాజ్యాంగం గొప్పది.

After putting in 20 plus years in journalism, and working with some of the top media companies and probably being the first female Editor-in-chief of a Telugu TV channel - the Telangana police decided to strip me off of my respect, dignity and portray me as a criminal.

The CM then goes to the Assembly and talks about how “journalists” should be identified specifically. Like my university masters degree or awards & accolades I have, didn’t matter. Of course he spoke a lot more.

But! This picture was specifically released to dehumanise me,
to vilify me for an interview done by my team @pulsenewsbreak of a 70 year old Dalit man critical of the CM.

Anyway! The police really, really wanted to prove me as a hardcore criminal and after 20/30 police men dragged me from home at 5am, they weren’t done. After a whole day of series of attempts to break me down, they drag me to a corner at Gandhi Hospital to click this picture.

Then the top guys in Telangana Police held a press conference, released my picture like this and of course the police talk about how I am a criminal who had to be apprehended pre-dawn.

BUT Telangana Police will never release a photo of POCSO accused Bandi Sai Bageerath ONLY because his father is the Union Minister who shouldn’t be name.

“Equality before Law”, is for the Constitution.

But like Orwell said - “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”!!!
