I've been trying to make a weird adventure game/rpg using only free/libre software. So, using Godot as the engine, making art in Krita and Blender, etc. Here are some screenshots from an old build.

@NondescriptRed Even though I believe in the idea of the field and that trying to apply scientific methods of research gathering is good for understanding aspects of the mind and behavior, there are a lot of problems in studies not being reproduced or only being able to rely on self reporting.

@rem8anna I might be wishful thinking but while I do share concerns that the internet age erodes media literacy, there are still people willing to engage with the deeper themes. This could also be another case of art leaving its intended audience and finding a fanbase of teenage netizens.

@MinModulation What's frustrating to me is that almost every discussion of this topic takes it for granted that the internet has to be this attention economy beast that runs primarily on targeted advertising via data collection.

It wasn't even always like that, but no one remembers!

@BIMBOSATTVA_ It's one of the biggest self-fulfilling prophecies that people can fall into socially. Genuine love and people we're capable of having it with do exist in the world, but by pandering to that "market" out of insecurity, one just filters the real intimacy out from their own life.

The @nytimes published a piece in which dozens of foreign medical volunteers who went into Gaza recounted seeing and treating children who were deliberately shot in the head and neck by Israeli soldiers (you can tell from the x-ray they're 5.56 rounds used by the IDF). These volunteers describe in painful detail the extent of horror they saw firsthand, including mass killings, malnutrition, targeting of civilians, and repeated and documented patterns of IDF soldiers behaving ruthlessly toward Palestinian noncombatants throughout the war in Gaza.

It is indisputable that horrendous war crimes were and are continuing to be committed in the Gaza war, no matter the claims to the contrary. Hamas's criminality and terrorism on October 7 can never justify this behavior by a professional military with clear rules of engagement and codes of conduct. There must be accountability for these crimes.

@smovs @cigardoesart Really? It made him seem a little goofy at first but I thought remake did a great job at making him arguably the most likable character in the game.

Haven’t played rebirth yet tho
