Modern architecture gave us glass boxes.
African architecture gave us breathing courtyards.

Which one actually understands our climate?

For generations, African courtyards were the heart of family, community and everyday life—creating privacy, connection, shade, airflow and daylight.

Maybe modern African architecture shouldn’t erase these principles.
Maybe it should reinvent them.

The future of African architecture may be hiding in the wisdom we left behind.

Tell your architect what you want. Let them give you what you actually need.
So why do clients hire architects… then tell them exactly what to do?
You’re not controlling the outcome. You’re sabotaging the best chance of getting it.🔎👣
