This gaping hole in the ground used to be Foggintor. Granite cut from its heart built Dartmoor Prison and Lord Nelson’s column in Trafalgar Square, London. Only the outer walls of stone remain.

Gave a talk on The Pirates of the Caribbean to Stratton Probus Club, Cirencester. Any connection with the song Captain Stratton's Fancy? He was the old bold mate of notorious pirate Henry Morgan who ended up Governor of Jamaica and died 1688 in his bed (unusual for a pirate).
