@NeverSleever @0ctoberReignz That's technically incorrect. There has been a legitmate challenge to Steve Kirch's assertions from Dr Avi Bitterman awhile back. https://t.co/16NoFvDXLX a fairly lengthy debate.
@GoldrichRichard@PierreKory@AviBittMD Outcomes for patients in the absence of IVM with steroidal use in Strongyloides-patients is potentially fatal due to an absence of standard care practices for Helminth infection. The data could therefore favour the treatment group purely on IVMs role in Helminth and not covid19.
@GoldrichRichard@PierreKory@AviBittMD My understanding(and I am not a clinician), there isn't a robust disgnoses for Helminth infection and the way in which the RCTs exclusion criteria did not apppear to be robust enough such that it ruled out parasitic infection in either groups respectively.
@GoldrichRichard@PierreKory@AviBittMD The issue that has been proposed is that IVM treatment appears to favour survival purely based upon the premise that the control group of the RCTs did not recieve IVM, only steroids which in Strongyloides-endemic countries most certainly would be fatal. Hope this makes sense.
@MattMCoppola That's technically not true. Avi has debated Steve Kirsch on this topic amongst the general preponderance of data on vaccine efficacy in general. Would be great however to get a discussion clinician vs clinician on this subject respectively.
@MarkSilverman@noorchashm I do believe it is relevant as surely one would consider twice whether they would wear a seatbelt at all(if not legally required) if the risk of bodily harm in the absence of a crash was equivalent to harm in serious crash scenario. But you're abs corect to weigh risk with risk!
