I received a courtesy visit from the Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher T. Landau @DeputySecState, alongside the Commander of U.S. Africa Command, General Dagvin Li Anderson. I appreciated the warm and constructive engagement, which underscored the importance of continued collaboration and mutual respect.
The US and Ethiopia have cooperated in aviation since the 1930s, when American John C. Robinson (sometimes called “the Father of the Tuskegee Airmen”) helped the country establish its air force and train its pilots. It was my honor to attend the Black Lion Air Show and celebrate the 90th anniversary of that air force. Also got to travel in a V-22 Osprey, a hybrid plane-helicopter, which makes for a pretty cool entrance. 🇺🇸✈️🇪🇹
As I conclude a truly memorable visit to Ethiopia, I carry with me the warmth of its people and the depth of our enduring friendship. This visit included productive discussions with Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali and the honour of addressing the Ethiopian Parliament. This visit has given fresh momentum to India-Ethiopia ties and strengthened a relationship rooted in shared values and a common vision for the future. We have elevated our relations to a Strategic Partnership which will greatly benefit our nations. My gratitude to the Government and people of Ethiopia. Also grateful to PM Abiy Ahmed Ali for coming to the airport when I left Ethiopia.
@AbiyAhmedAli
Thank you, Prime Minister @narendramodi , for your visit to Ethiopia and for your continued efforts to strengthen India–Ethiopia relations. Our elevated ties to a strategic level marks an important milestone and opens a new chapter of deeper cooperation and shared progress between our two countries.
I have the distinct honor of welcoming His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
Our meeting marks an important milestone in the relationship between our two countries as we continue to deepen cooperation in areas critical to our shared future. In particular, the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding on Skills Development and Carbon Credits Collaboration reflects our joint commitment to building resilient, future-ready workforces and advancing sustainable, low-carbon growth.
We are honored to continue this journey of friendship and collaboration with Singapore. There is tremendous potential to harness the strengths of our partnership through further practical cooperation, expanding trade and investment, developing smart transport and logistics, and strengthening collaboration in digital infrastructure, fintech, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
Big congratulations to all #Ethiopians on this historical milestone achievement of the Completion and inauguration of the #GERD.It is a symbol of unity ,strength and togetherness.Thanks to all Ethiopians and partners who contributed to the successful completion of the Dam.

While delighted to see Bill Gates pledge his $200 billion to Africa’s development huge caution is in order to prevent it going to waste, fraud, and corruption. I’d love to see some used to develop comprehensive US-Africa university partnerships. https://t.co/bCjmqmgTMt
Egypt is talking to everybody (this time Sudan) about its rights to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam - except the one nation which matters - Ethiopia! Why not try reality, flexibility, and respect, and actually deal with the country which controls it?
