The reopening of the Rafah crossing is an important and welcome step.
However, humanitarian aid is not currently entering through this point and medical evacuations remain limited.
UNICEF calls for all crossing points and supply routes to be opened at scale, simultaneously. People must be able to have safe and dignified crossings both ways, and medical evacuations need to increase urgently.
Children’s lives in Gaza depend on it.
The collapse of the rules-based world order, which is unfolding before our eyes, does not mean the end of the world as it will mark the beginning of new international arrangements

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for ideals that remain urgent today: confronting racism & discrimination.
Decades later, no country can claim to be free of racism. Many have yet to account for their past.
We must choose & build a future without hate. #FightRacism

The world needs the United Nations, but right now the United Nations needs the world too.
Today, I stressed in my speech that my main priority for the next 237 days as President of the General Assembly is to defend the United Nations, its Charter, and the principles enshrined in it. To preserve the UN and save multilateralism, we need to be decisive, principled, and #BetterTogether.
The @UN is our global town hall.
It is the place where we close the gap between differences and dialogue, crises and solutions.
But today, our town hall is under strain.
Let us reunite around the principles of the Charter and recommit to peace, dignity and human rights for all.
