Palestinian propaganda relies on the lie that Jewish history in Israel began in 1945 and was just a consolation prize for going through the Holocaust.

There's just one problem...

Here's a not-so brief history of Jews in Israel prior to 1948: 🇮🇱

• 17th century BC: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob settle in the Land of Israel. Israelites migrate to Egypt to escape famine (spoiler alert: this was a mistake).
• 13th century BC: Israelites escape Egypt, get lost in the desert for 40 years, receive the Torah & 10 Commandments at Mount Sinai.
• 13th - 12th century BC: Israelites settle in the Land of Israel.
• 1020 BC: Jewish monarcy established, with Saul first king.
• 1000 BC: Jerusalem made the capital of David's Kingdom.
• 960 BC: King Solomon builds the FIrst Temple in Jerusalem.
• 930 BC: Kingdom divided into Judah and Israel.
• 722 - 720 BC: Assyrians crush Israel, with 10 tribes exiled.
• 586 BC: Judah conquered by Babylonia. Jerusalem and the First Temple are destroyed, and most Jews are exiled.
• 538 - 515 BC: Jews return from Babylonia and rebuild the Temple.
• 332 BC: Israel conquered by Alexander the Great.
• 142 - 63 BC: Jewish autonomy and then independence under Hasmoneans.
• 63 BC: Jerusalem captured by Romans.
• 0: Jesus born.
• 66: Jewish revolt against Romans.
• 70: Jerusalem and the Second Temple destroyed.
• 73: Last stand of Jews at Masada.
• 132 - 135: Uprising against Rome.
• 135: As punishment, Romans rename region "Palestinian Syria." --> So the word Palestine was invented by the Romans 1700+ years after the first Jews lived in Israel.
• 610: Islam established.
• 614: Persians invade.
• 691: Caliph Abd el-Malik builds Dome of the Rock on the site of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem.
• 1099 - 1291: Crusader control.
• 1291 - 1516: Mamluk control.
• 1517 - 1917: Ottoman rule.
• 1882 - 1903: Large-scale Jewish immigration begins, mainly from Russia, known as the First Aliya.
• 1904 - 1914: Second Aliya, mainly from Russia and Poland.
• 1917: Ottoman rule ended by British, with Foreign Minister Balfour pledging support for the establishment of a "Jewish national home in Palestine."
• 1918 - 1948: British rule.
• 1919 - 1923: Third Aliya, mainly from Russia.
• 1922: Britain granted Mandate for Palestine (Land of Israel) by League of Nations. Transjordan set up on 3/4 of the area, with 1/4 left for Jews.
• 1924 - 1932: Fourth Aliya, mainly from Poland.
• 1933 - 1939: Fifth Aliya, mainly from Germany (gee, I wonder why?)
• 1947: UN proposes the establishment of Arab and Jewish states.
• 1948: British Mandate ends and State of Israel proclaimed. Israel is immediately invaded by five Arab states.
• May 1948 - July 1949: Israeli War of Independence.
