This Tuesday on Pipe Up! 🎙️ GP Mark McManus sits down with Chris Madello to talk data centers, the misinformation surrounding them, and why these projects mean major work opportunities for skilled UA members across the country.
Data centers are driving the next wave of infrastructure—and Colorado is ready to build. With strong labor standards, that means real jobs, real training, and real opportunities for UA members.
We can’t have honest meaningful energy conversations in Minnesota without looking at every option. Minnesota remains the only state with a full nuclear moratorium. Thats not leading. Thats getting left behind.
The Minnesota Pipe Trades Association has and will continue to support the data center industry in Minnesota. An attack on the industry is an attack on our members and their way of life. Thank you @UAPipeTrades for calling balls and strikes!
Today, the Senate passed H.J. Res. 140, overturning the 20-year mineral withdrawal in MN. The resolution opens 225,000+ acres for exploration and development of critical minerals and unlocks thousands of jobs on the Iron Range. Full statement: https://t.co/SoSzzckQOg
The Minnesota Pipe Trades Association would like to thank all of the legislators in DC who voted yes on HJ Resolution 140. A bill brought forward by @RepPeteStauber. Resolution 140 does not allow mining in the BWCA. It will allow a science, fact based process to move forward.
Today’s U.S. Senate Vote to pass H.J. Res. 140 is an important step for Minnesota workers, Iron Range communities, and our domestic mineral supply chain.
Blocking infrastructure funding doesn’t just stall projects — it sends highly skilled UA members home and delays critical work Americans rely on. Restore the Gateway Tunnel funding and stop turning construction jobs into political leverage.
Appreciate the leadership from @RepGolden and every member who stood up for union rights. Thanks to everyone who called, spoke out, and helped pass the Protect America’s Workforce Act in the House.
@paulcumings has been a huge advocate for labor. Not only when times are easy but when they’re hard as well. The Minnesota Pipe Trades Association is proud to endorse him in his election effort.
I am so proud to be endorsed by labor. In the coming days, I will be rolling out more labor union endorsements but I wanted to share the first two labor endorsements for my State Senate campaign - the Carpenters @NCSRCCarpenters and the @MNPipeTrades. Looking forward to the work!
Data centers are a big part of our members future. We can and should build these responsibly in Minnesota. Great work for our brothers and sisters. @UAPipeTrades
Minnesota has always built what matters—safely, responsibly, and sustainably. We lead in reliable infrastructure. Data centers are no different. They bring jobs, investment, and support our digital future. Let’s build it together.
