🚨 This is not a criticism, merely an appendage of my tweet, from yesterday, about 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞 journalists and media; and how they behave in the face of headline national issues.

🇬🇭 50 years from now, a young person may enter Ghana's news archives and look for front pages of 22nd September, 2023.

📰 This is what they'll see: that the nation's FOUR biggest selling and most widely distributed newspapers did not see it fit to give the most topical story banner headline coverage.

Anytime I research historical events for articles, I deal with this question constantly: was the news coverage of the papers I am reading a true reflection of how serious the issues were, back then -- or were they affected by framing?

If you are alive by 2083, don't forget what the biggest story in Ghana was on 22/09/2023.

❌️ It was not about President @NAkufoAddo speaking at the UN about reparations. It was not about a beef between Kennedy Agyapong and @MBawumia. It was not about Graphic digitalising its archives.

It was about #OccupyJulorBiHouse. 🇬🇭
