In every community, there are those who turn against their own people. History has shown this time and again.

During the Algerian War of Independence, some Algerians—the Harkis—stood with the French against their own brothers fighting for freedom. In the American Revolutionary War, many colonists chose the British side over their fellow Americans.

Today, in Mulenge, we are fighting for survival—because we have no other choice. Yet, it is painful to see some of our own brothers praising and standing beside those who have bombed their parents with drones and artillery, taking innocent lives.

But this is my message to them: no matter the path you choose, even if you stand against your own people, the truth will not be buried forever. In the end, light will always overcome darkness.
