Canadian stations often aired American programs early since Canadians could pick up American transmissions directly and this avoided competing for viewers and ad revenue.

March 31, 1979: Indiana State's Larry Bird throws a behind-the-back pass to future Celtics teammate Terry Duerod (University of Detroit) in the Pizza Hut College All-Star Basketball Classic.

Bird, who'd already been drafted by Boston, scored 17 PTS and was named the game's MVP.
