Pulwama Mulaqaat
The @JkSYSF Save Youth Save Future Foundation today organised the Pulwama edition of “Mulaqaat – An Interfaith Dialogue for Harmony & Shared Heritage” at Sports Stadium, Pulwama.
The programme brought together people from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Kashmiri Pandit communities, reaffirming the shared values of peace, brotherhood, coexistence and harmony.
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the gathering and flagged off the Tiranga Yatra, highlighting the importance of dialogue, preservation of shared heritage, youth participation and national integration.
The programme was attended by senior civil and police officers, religious representatives, civil society members and SYSF functionaries.
Mulaqaat continues its message: dialogue builds trust, harmony strengthens society, and our shared heritage unites us. 1/n

O God, grant all who died in the Nowgam blast the highest rank in Paradise, fill their graves with light, forgive their sins, strengthen their families with calm hearts, and surround them with Your mercy and protection at every moment. 😔😔
What’s happening in Kashmir? Near Nowgam Bypass, just 200m from the railway station (Pulwama side), I saw boys rubbing weed from plants. Locals say it happens daily. Shame on authorities for ignoring it. Save our youth from drugs.
Nayi Subah – Nashe Se Azadi, Zindagi Ke Saath.
@JkSYSF “Save Youth Save Future” Foundation organized its 6th Drug Awareness Event at Govt. Degree College #Pulwama, in collaboration with District Administration Pulwama continuing its mission for a drug-free society. 1/n
Exactly a year after Omar Abdullah’s government returned to power, Kashmir’s voters are no longer counting ballots , they’re counting heartbreak.
From Pulwama’s alleys to Gurez’s frozen valleys, voices from across J&K are asking the same question: Where did the promises go?
My latest for @News18India ⬇️

In #Baramulla, farmer #SaqibAhmad says, “We voted with hope, but what we got was disappointment. Jobs, power, infrastructure, all remained talk.”
In #Pulwama, shopkeeper #Zubair stands beside piles of unpaid electricity bills: “They promised free 200 units & free gas. We only got higher bills.”
In #Srinagar, graduate @malikmuskaaan calls it “a ghost of one lakh jobs” “They promised a future, we got frustration. The LG’s era gave us counseling camps & real guidance , that’s all gone.”
From #Wahibugh, elder #GhRasool recalls the silence of broken promises “They spoke of monthly rations, war on drugs, a Minority Commission. Nothing happened. Governments are judged on delivery, not declarations.”
In #Baramulla, #RajaBegum turns political failure into kitchen wisdom: “Promises don’t cook food.”
In #Dardpora ,Kupwara #GhHassan Mir, an NC loyalist for 24 years, breaks down:
“For 75 years, no drinking water. Only under the LG did we get it , ₹12 crore scheme, 4 new schools, health centres, roads macadamised. What NC couldn’t do in 70 years, LG did in 4.”
He adds quietly, “We now pray five times a day for LG rule to return.”
From #Gurez’s remote #Achoora village, @amiraneeslone , a 25-year-old student, says:
“Under #LG Rule, #Gurez got roads, grid power for the first time since #1947, staff in schools & hospitals, and booming tourism. We felt seen.”
“But since NC returned, bills doubled, power cuts returned, and teachers were transferred. #NazirGurezi’s family grew richer, our villages poorer.”
Across #JammuAndKashmir , from #Baramulla’s apple orchards to #Kupwara’s frontier hamlets, from #Anantnag’s saffron slopes to #Pulwama’s streets ,people say one thing:
Governance is not about speeches. It’s about service.
As #Irshad #Mir from #Shopian says,
“Earlier, politicians spoke about Kashmir. Now, someone worked for Kashmir. That’s the difference.”

My latest column in @timesofindia exposes the harsh truth of @OmarAbdullah ’s government a year of lies, appropriation & absolute inaction.
Eleven months after taking power, there’s no job package, no new welfare scheme, no progress in health or education. The NC regime has mastered only one thing cutting ribbons on projects built & funded under the Lieutenant Governor’s administration.
From cancer hospitals to dialysis centres, bridges to schools every “achievement” was the LG’s work, rebranded as their own. What was meant to be governance has become political theatre.
Even J&K’s top legal post , the Advocate General remains vacant since October 2024. @OmarAbdullah admits he “handed over a name to someone in Delhi,”that someone is not known yet, who that was in delhi, bypassing the LG, the competent authority. One year later, no appointment, no accountability, only confusion.
Meanwhile, development projects worth crores remain stalled. Roads lie half-built, bridges abandoned, irrigation schemes frozen. The #Youth who voted for change & employment now face disillusionment. The poor who were promised free electricity & welfare have seen nothing.
This constant blame game pointing fingers at Delhi while enjoying Delhi-funded budgets is not governance. It’s deceit dressed as helplessness.
The danger is real. As I write in my piece when governments lie, people stop believing; when people stop believing, alienation returns. That is what Kashmir cannot afford again.
People voted not for dynasties but for delivery not for drama but for dignity. They placed faith in democracy after years of disillusionment, and that faith has been betrayed.
Kashmir deserves performance, not propaganda. Accountability, not appropriation. Leadership, not lamentation.
