Copper is turning into one of the biggest resource stories of the AI era
S&P Global projects global copper demand to rise from about 28M metric tons in 2025 to roughly 42M tons by 2040, a 50% increase. At the same time, mined supply is expected to peak around 2030 and then decline, potentially leaving a supply gap of about 10M tons by 2040.
Why? Grid expansion, EVs, renewable power, AI data centers and defense are all increasing copper demand at the same time.
That is where the $NRED story gets interesting.
NRED recently shifted its strategy toward MetalCore AI, mining robotics and autonomous technologies designed for mineral exploration and mining. Instead of relying on one property, the company is trying to build technology that can help identify, evaluate and prioritize mineral opportunities more efficiently.
If the world needs substantially more copper and critical minerals, technologies that help miners find and evaluate new resources faster could become increasingly important.
Copper shortage + AI-driven exploration + mining robotics is the bigger theme behind $NRED
The pivot from single-project mining to a tech-first model with $NRED is the part that stands out. Valentin Saitarli's AI and computer vision background lines up with where MetalCore AI and the robotics push are headed.

$NRED is going through one of the biggest strategic shifts in its story
The company is moving away from a single-project mining model and putting MetalCore AI, mining robotics and automation at the center of the business
New CEO Valentin Saitarli brings deep experience in AI, computer vision and machine learning, which fits the new direction perfectly
Add the MetalCore platform, broader mining-tech applications, robotics, autonomous workflows and a leadership team now focused on technology, and the story starts to look very different
The key catalyst now is execution, but the setup is clear: AI + robotics + mining tech are becoming the core $NRED thesis

Designed in California. Powered by Chinese AI. Sold globally.
That model is getting real traction.
Higgsfield says it passed a $1B annualized revenue run rate, while platforms are increasingly integrating Chinese models like Seedance, Kling, MiniMax and Qwen.
That’s why I’m watching $RYET too
RYET sits in a similar cross-border theme: AI + education + commercialization, with products like YeeZo, Cogni AI and Formind aimed at turning Chinese AI capabilities into real-world deployments across multiple markets.
Different company, same bigger trend:
Chinese AI technology is increasingly being packaged, distributed and monetized globally.
