Uveitis specialists often think far beyond the eye. Diagnosing #ocular#inflammation requires a thorough review of systems, knowledge of systemic disease, and careful clinical reasoning. #YOInfo https://t.co/9AlW3nL6jK
Why should you complete the Women in Retina Survey?
The panel discuss what has changed since 2021, why this updated survey matters, & why every voice - women and men alike - counts.

Last week’s Joint Uveitis NW Meeting at @WhitworthArt brought Liverpool & Manchester together beneath the waves, rain and landscapes of Hokusai and Hiroshige.
A fitting reminder that #uveitis, like art, is about layers, pattern recognition and seeing what lies beneath...
Thanks to our speakers and delegates.

📢 A landmark consensus moment for the global #uveitis community 👁️
It is time to retire the term "White Dot Syndromes".
For decades, this phrase has acted as a convenient umbrella label for inflammatory chorioretinal disorders. But modern multimodal imaging, improved disease characterisation and better understanding of pathogenesis now show that these conditions are distinct entities - with different anatomy, prognosis, monitoring needs and treatment implications.
The Multimodal Imaging in Uveitis (MUV) Group, led by the International Uveitis Study Group, has brought together the wider global uveitis, ocular inflammation, retinal imaging and vitreoretinal communities around a simple but important message:
Retire the umbrella.
Name the disease.
Treat with precision.
Clearer terminology means better diagnosis, stronger research, more meaningful trials and ultimately better patient care.

The eye is not an isolated organ - it's a window into systemic health and a meeting point for #oralmedicine, #infectiousdiseases, #immunology, #sexualhealth, #neurology, #rheumatology and many other specialities...
This year I had a busy 4-day conference journey , from @BISOM_Official at @RCPspaces, to @BritishHIVAssoc x @BASHH_UK, to @RheumatologyUK - reinforcing the same message again and again: patients benefit when ophthalmologists step beyond the clinic, build rapid referral pathways, recognise systemic red flags early, and co-manage complex disease across specialties.
