The announcement of the winner of the @waltscottprize will take place at an event at the @BordersBookFest in Melrose on 11 June.
Whatever the outcome, I'd love to have a posse of GMB Ultras there ๐

Enjoying Copenhagen with birthday boy, son number one, as our enthusiatic Scandi tour guide. Son number two joining the birthday party in Oslo. A viking saga!
Liz in good form. Her wee poem contains some of my late mother-in-law's everyday Scots - ashet, winterdykes, the press. I recall one day standing in her kitchen flummoxed when she asked me to pass the gullie to her. Keeping old Scots vocabulary alive and rediscovery is a joy.
Meanwhile, as if there hadn't been enough good news for one day, Benbecula also finds itself on the longlist for @The_CWA Historical Dagger award ๐ก
Mind officially blown!
When we visited we felt as though we could have driven into the Minch, the approach road was so narrow. My wife's granny McLeod was born and raised in neighbouring Glendale village in the 1880s. Perhaps she saw the construction of this new lighthouse in 1909.
December is here, which means a whole load of brilliant new children's books for us to enjoy!
We've picked out some of our favourites, from stories to get you into the festive spirit to titles that would make fantastic gifts and lots more besides ๐
