Today is day 978 that the Milwaukee Police Department has been working without a contract. I was honored to stand with the men and women who stand between us and danger on a regular basis. They deserve every penny they're asking for. #BackTheBadge
The Milwaukee Police Association is aware of criminal charges issued today against a Milwaukee police officer for Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon and Violent Crime in a School Zone. The Officer, Vashaun Young, is currently on full suspension and we understand an internal investigation is ongoing.
As with any individual, Young is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We understand the seriousness of the charges and we strongly condemn the reckless act as alleged in the complaint. We also recognize the importance of the legal process in ensuring justice is served. As such, MPA will respect the ongoing investigation by not sharing any further statement at this time.
FAKE NEWS ALERT: MPA warns public of fake press release on fraudulent MPA letterhead. We did NOT write this and the content is FALSE. Whoever wrote this seeks to divide us – and we won’t let it go unchecked.

Today Gov. Tony Evers signed into law SB 120. The MPA worked diligently to get this bill signed for our members to protect their healthcare. Thank you Rep. Bob Donovan, Sen. Van Wanggaard, Rep. Tip McGuire and everyone involved.
Last night I attended the @MPA_Milwaukee’s golf outing. I’m honored to receive their Legislator of the Year Award. It’s been a pleasure working with MPA this year to ensure they, and our law enforcement officers across the state, have the support and resources they need!
