Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people.
Be strong, be brave, be fearless.
You are never alone, dear President @ZelenskyyUa.
We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace.
Tomorrow will mark three years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
A day that will forever live in infamy.
Today we’re hoisting the Ukrainian flag at our headquarters.
It is flying high and proud at the heart of Europe.
Where it belongs.
Today is my last day as Deputy Chief of Mission for @EUintheUS. After 5+ years in Washington, I return to Brussels with memories, achievements & new friends. The EU-US relationship is one of the deepest, most interconnected. It was a deep honor to play a role in this. Thank you.
Good call with @SecRubio.
We discussed global issues where the EU and US have the same interests, including Russia’s war in Ukraine, Iran’s malign influence and challenges posed by China.
The EU and US are always stronger together.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.
I am deeply saddened by the deliberate attack on those celebrating New Year's in New Orleans.
There is no excuse for such violence.
As authorities continue their investigation, we stand in full solidarity with the victims and their families during this tragic time.
The world will miss Jimmy Carter’s big heart and life dedicated to public service at home and supporting democracy and human rights abroad. My condolences to the Carter family.
Honored to welcome to the EU Delegation @StateSEAS Deborah Lipstadt to discuss how we can promote the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism and to hear about her tireless efforts to fight these hateful acts. We are grateful for her work and coordination with us.
Over 1,000 days since Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine. I appreciated Ukrainian DCM Denys Sienik’s attendance at our monthly meeting of EU Deputy Ambassadors to the US so we can once again show our support and solidarity. #StandWithUkraine@UKRintheUSA
Really grateful to our @EUinSF team for all they do to promote EU values, tech, and digital policy on the West Coast. The tech space is sure to remain exciting as we head into 2025, and I’m glad we have them working for @EUintheUS.
The EU is coast to coast! Thanks to @NLinSF in San Francisco & the Hungarians in Los Angeles for hosting me and @MichaelCurtisEU during our visit. I see the work the Consuls are doing for your countries and for the EU — bringing Europeans & Americans closer together. #TeamEurope
Great chat on city2city diplomacy with 🇺🇸 @SubnationalDip Amb. Nina Hachigian. EU collaboration thru initiatives like @IURC_Programme, @Mayors4Climate & the Transatlantic Sustainable Transition Initiative highlights our commitment to fostering partnerships w/ N. American cities.
🎉 A historic day for the College!
🇪🇺 What an honor to hear these words from Ursula von der Leyen: « The college of Europe is much more than a normal university. It was one of the first building blocks of EU integration, before coal and steel. It all started with the College.”
A new group of trainees has arrived at our Delegation! They are here to help us promote the EU-US relationship and dive head first into the world of diplomacy. As you arrive from Belgium, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and America, I wish you all good luck. 🇪🇺🇺🇸
Today I met with Bart Lemmon & Dan Kruger @NASPOnews. We agreed that collaboration in procurement markets is key to building resilient supply chains. Excited to work together to create more opportunities for EU companies in U.S. state-level procurement! #SupplyChain@EUintheUS
Nothing like running in the rain as a bonding experience! Thanks to 🇸🇰🇱🇺🇱🇹🇵🇱 DCMs for joining me in this year’s Kosciuszko Freedom Run, organised by @LTembassyUS and @PolishEmbassyUS. Great combination of positive sportsmanship and competition!
Back from summer break and glad to welcome several of our new EU Member State DCMs to their Washington, D.C. posts! 🇫🇷🇪🇪🇸🇰🇮🇪🇳🇱🇵🇹 You all arrive at a critical time for the United States and the great transatlantic relationship. Excited to work with all of you.
@AurelieBonal@AgnesvdMuhll@franceintheus Thank you Aurelie for the excellent cooperation and friendship in DC. Welcome to the EEAS and best of luck in Canada. A très bientôt!
What a momentous day for these courageous individuals and their loved ones. I am so grateful to everyone who participated in such a complex and delicate process to secure their freedom. No one should suffer such undemocratic regime abuses.
