We are very excited to announce Martinsville’s newest police officers, Trishia Elgin & Logan Bowman. Both have been with MPD since Nov as recruits. Their hard work has resulted in their advancing to the next stage of their career by taking the oath of office and being sworn in.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have placed ribbons on all of our patrol vehicles. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. So, it is in all of our best interest to help raise awareness to fight this horrible disease. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

All of us at the @VaCapitolPolice are proud of Officers Rodney Hodges (left) and Donald Freeman for representing the division at the 2019 Police Fitness Challenge in Galax. The event honors the memory of Carroll County Deputy Sheriff Curtis Bartlett, who died in a 2017 pursuit.

A Huge Congratulations to the Officers that completed the Basic SWAT school this week. This is an intense 40 hr course! That pushes officers to their limits so they can be there when you need them! Officers from Henry, Patrick, and Roanoke Counties along with Martinsville City.

Be aware, our officers are increasing our enforcement of red-light offenders. So, don’t be surprised that if you run a red light you start to see blue lights.

Yesterday we celebrated the retirement of Officer J. C. White. Although his career was shortened by an injury while on military deployment, he had made a huge positive impact on this community as SRO for MHS. We can't thank him enough for his service to our city and our country.
