Across Kenya, we’ve walked through classrooms where light shone on ideas, reaching communities cast away by miles, restoring dignity where once unknown…
And from these moments, we have learnt that good deserves to be seen, felt, and told.

For Dr. Mabeya, fistula surgery has never been a pathchosen for prestige or financial reward. It is a calling driven by compassion, and the belief that every woman deserves dignity and quality healthcare.

What is obstetric fistula?
It is a serious childbirth injury caused by prolonged, obstructedlabour without timely medical care, leaving a hole between thebirth canal and bladder or rectum.
But here’s the truth:
It is preventable. It is treatable.
#EndFistula
At the heart of these stories,a shared truth, that ending fistula is not only a medical goal, but a commitment to restoring dignity, strengthening maternal health systems, and ensuring no woman is left behind.
Just like Hanifa, the powerful message is one -Fistula Inatibika
It begins with silence, the kind that carries pain, of stories unheard.
Hanifa’s story of living with obstetric fistula, is a long one marked by isolation, desperation and a pain only she can describe, for motherhood.
#EndFistula#TransformingLives
As we celebrate this International Day to End Obstetric Fistula, her story is one of hundreds, shared by women who have walked similar paths.

Some of the most powerful stories are already happening around us; in our schools, hospitals, communities and environment. Stories of resilience, transformation and hope.
Through our Capture the Good challenge, we are inviting creators across Kenya to help tell these stories through photography and videography. Whether you are a professional creative or simply someone with a great eye and a phone camera, this is your opportunity to capture the real impact of the Safaricom and M-PESA Foundations in your community.
Anchored on four key pillars on Education, Health, Economic Empowerment and Environmental Conservation, this challenge will give creators access to over 250 foundation projects across the country to document stories that matter.
This is more than a competition, we want to make everyday Kenyans ambassadors of change. It is a platform to amplify authentic Kenyan stories, empower the next generation of creatives, and showcase the incredible impact happening across the country every day.
Entries close on 31st May.
If you are passionate about storytelling, photography or videography, I encourage you to join the challenge and help us shine a light on the transformational work we are doing in Kenya.

@MPESA_FDN and Safaricom PLC are taking their 15-year partnership with the @Rhino_Charge and Rhino Ark’s conservation mission to an unprecedented level. This year, that commitment goes even further with a joint KES 114 million sponsorship for the 37th edition of the challenge in Samburu powering both critical ecological preservation and cutting-edge tech.

To make a lasting impact, KES 94 million from the M-PESA Foundation will go directly toward Rhino Ark’s electric fencing and forest rehabilitation across Mount Elgon, the Mau Forest Complex, and Mount Kenya, protecting vital water towers and safeguarding over 80,000 local families from human-wildlife conflict.

Meanwhile, Safaricom PLC is deploying KES 20 million to fuel diversity and technology. This includes KES 17 million across THREE teams, with each representing a cause Safaricom believes in: Team AK44 carries the legacy of performance and heritage, EV Explorer drives the conversation on sustainability and green innovation, while Zambarau Heels on Wheels champions inclusion and the growing role of women in motorsport and adventure.
