Christmas bags were given to each inmate @Graceville Correctional Facility, a private facility managed by MTC.
The bag holds approximately $35 in inmate canteen items.

Aramark will be “…providing meals at a cost of $2.32 per inmate each day.”
That was in 2002, The price of $2.32 per day was for EVERY incarcerated, whether they ate or not.
It’s 21 years later and they are being paid for incarcerated that EAT at the rate of $3.049 per day.
Inflation rate, previously documented shortages, bad food, being fired, why would we ever dream of hiring them back? @jenn_bradley @SenJonMartin
In addition to this the Canteen prices for 65% of the items increased on average 40% only 3 months after a 10% increase.
How is that FMV @RepMikeCaruso? The independent 3rd party that came up with these prices & the calculation have not been made public. Similar to the delay in the contract being public for a 1 1/2 months.
Canteen is a necessity when you have @Aramark.
What happens to all the people who don’t have “approved visitors” who can send them money?
What about the families that already lost one breadwinner? The other has to raise the children, send money, spend 14 cents a minute to call and travel 6 hours to take the children to see Dad.
Who is doing the time? The Florida families that we are allowing @FL_Corrections to bankrupt over a crime they didn’t commit.
Treats them like Humans!
Graceville and @MTC_Trains continue to shine here in Florida. My husband’s birthday was September 29th. He turned 60. l couldn’t even mail him a card he could hold.
Tonight, every person in Graceville that had a birthday in September received a bag of all sorts of food (many not available at the canteen) and a CARD they could actually hold.
Graceville continues to impress me! Stephan has experienced more 1st in the 20 years being incarcerated while at this facility. They are a role model for what all prisons should be like.
Remember 90% of those incarcerated will go home.

@jenn_bradley the families with the LOs in the @FL_Corrections thank you and your committee for the free 15 minute call they received today! 😍😍 Thank you for listening to families and understanding the importance of communication in reducing recidivism.
Just a reminder, Leon County Delegation meeting is October 5th at 5pm. I know many of you were interested in speaking because @JasonShoafFL@gallopfranklin@csime90 would be present. It would be nice if they accept the @FAMMFoundation Challenge beforehand and #VisitAPrison.
Keefe manipulates prices for inmates across Florida. KEEFE brands fluctuate by an average of 70% between institutions. KEEFE IS PRICE GOUGING OUR LO's!

@ucf87cpa@beyondprisonmia@Mark254Inch@brandes@senpizzo Again you misinform. Mark Inch did not create incentive camps, he implemented them. The premise for these camps came under the leadership of Walt McNeil and his push for more education package. This was following his move to DOC from DJJ. Please stick to the facts.
@beyondprisonmia@ucf87cpa Docs available online.
Is there a problem w @MPF_2023 and our posts of unethical pricing? Has our presence shaken you? Has X become a prison yard to test/certify newbies? Stop this veiled initiation attempt. Examine your actions & requests. Cognitive dissonance at it's finest.
@ucf87cpa Good issue. Unfortunately, I've seen this play out in visitation. The VP Sgt. may turn it into a punishment. Feeding the meal in the strip room (strip searching them twice) or worse, bring the tray into VP. This is humiliating to the inmate and his family. If you know, you know🤷🏽♂️
@Hounddoglover99 We're showing the discrepancy between facilities and pricing. Keefe sets the prices as they choose with little regard for fairness of good faith.
