March 13 to April 15 is celebrated as National Deaf History Month. We honor and celebrate the achievements and advancements of people who are deaf and hard of hearing.

In 1974, Staff Sergeant Joyce B. Malone became the first black woman (and oldest) to earn airborne wings in the Army Reserve.
By age 38, Malone completed 15 parachute jumps during her time in the Army Reserve.

The “Golden Thirteen” The Navy began training its first Black Officers in 1944.. Determined to succeed, they studied together by flashlight at night & scored the highest average of any class in Navy history at the time. The military was desegregate 4 years later. #BHM

It is with heavy hearts that one of our brothers has passed earlier this week. MSgt (ret) William Meekins was an outstanding father, husband, Marine, mentor, and friend. He will lie in repose 15 December 15 2021, from 6 to 7 PM at First Baptist Church Family Life & Cultural

Center, 528 Booth Street, Salisbury, MD. The funeral service will begin at 7 PM. Interment will be held Friday, December 17, 2021, at 12 PM at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road, Baltimore. Please keep his family lifted in spirit and prayers.
