Celebrating Education Week and Mental Health with an Art Show Fundraiser. Each class created their own unique pieces, and our wonderful Nolan in Grade 6 created a custom piece which is being raffled. We are so proud of our talented students! @GEDSB
This week, we worked with our Math Coach to deepen understanding and think through what it means to convert between capacity units. This is a skill where many sts struggle to deeply understand the relationships between units. We had engagement and success for every learner!
Exploring ratios when mixing colours was extra exciting last week. Sts worked in partners to use different colours (parts) to create a new colour with a total of ten drops (whole). They then switched swatches with another group to figure out their “ratio recipe”. @GEDSB

This one task reinforced: measuring with a protractor, complimentary and supplementary angles, opposite angles, sum of angles within triangles, quadrilaterals, and pentagons. Parallel and perpendicular lines, properties of polygons and so many SEL skills! @GEDSB
Task: How many angles can you calculate? Colour code to show the angles you measured to guide your work. This task brought about an incredible amount of learning and “ah ha moments” as Ss worked in random groups. 1/2 @GEDSB
Representing fractions with patterning blocks, lead by our fabulous math coach! This extended into so many wonderful moments of understanding that the amount the “whole” represents can change! Ss added fractions and made impr. and Mx #s. We extended into tesselations! @GEDSB
Sts shared similarities and differences between the immigration experiences of our ancestors. Canada 🇨🇦 is a diverse and multi-cultural nation, and our history includes many perspectives. Understanding the struggles and triumphs of our diverse population, supports inclusion.
MPS junior and intermediate representatives gave it their all and did a fantastic job tonight at the South Brant Legion Speech Competition! Extremely proud of them all!
