Hey steve did you send out a "check your email" email today....just wanted to check for phishing before I clicked your link. Thanks Laura
Our Free Little Libraries were revealed today at our celebration! Thank you to all the parents who sent food and to the parents who were able to join us this morning. We are so proud of this work and give special thanks to our grade nine friends who built our plans!
We were searching for ants to put in our ant farm. Catching them was much harder than we thought. We watched two ants communicating with their antenna, we think they were making an escape plan.
Rocks are starting to arrive! The top rock in the photo is the correct size. It needs to be about the size of an adult hand. The rock on the bottom is an example of a rock that’s too small. It will be difficult for us to do the art on a rock that is small.
Using a new medium for art today. Water colour pencil crayons were tricky to use as we painted our tree. We went outside to see what changes have occurred and we are wondering if our tree would make a good wishtree....
“Trees can’t tell jokes. But we can certainly tell stories. And if all you hear is the whisper of leaves, don’t worry. Most trees are introverts at heart.” We started a new novel today. We worked hard to create a four star response to what we visualized when we listened.
Today we explored with cuisinaire rods. Students quickly discovered that there is a relationship between the rods. Students were asked to assign a number to each rod and prove that they are correct. “The green is a 3, look it’s a red plus a white...2+1 it’s the same as 3.”
Tomorrow is Thursday already! We have library exchange...we have only a couple of more library exchanges until all books are due back, so pack them up to get new ones while we can. 😊
Fun Lunch forms came home today. Mrs H. was away Thursday so we have been granted an extra day to return the orders with payment. They are due tomorrow for us!!!
