W kuluarowych rozmowach w NATO Defense College w Rzymie usłyszałem opinię, że w polskich Siłach Zbrojnych spada odsetek dowódców biegle posługujących się językiem angielskim.

Jeśli to prawda, to trudno zrozumieć, jak po niemal 30 latach członkostwa w NATO można awansować na stopień generalski bez biegłej znajomości podstawowego języka roboczego Sojuszu. Przecież interoperacyjność to nie tylko sprzęt, ale także zdolność do bezpośredniej komunikacji z sojusznikami. NATO od lat stosuje standard STANAG 6001 właśnie po to, by zapewnić wspólne kompetencje językowe.

Jeżeli te informacje są zgodne z rzeczywistością, to mamy do czynienia z poważnym problemem.

(A przy okazji jak wygląda znajomość języka rosyjskiego w naszych siłach zbrojnych czyli języka potencjalnego przeciwnika?)

Może warto, aby dziennikarze wystąpili z wnioskiem do @KosiniakKamysz o udostępnienie informacji publicznej dotyczącej poziomu znajomości języka angielskiego wśród wyższej kadry dowódczej Wojska Polskiego. Taka wiedza leży w interesie bezpieczeństwa państwa.

Including the Nordic countries and Poland in this group would be a very good step toward de-escalating the situation. However, judging by many statements from Ukrainian politicians these days, Polish involvement (because we are “pidary” ;) ) is apparently not needed, and Poland is seen merely as a competitor.
In this context, history is just an instrument of politics, not the real cause of the separation — hopefully not a divorce yet.

Yes and no. As long as the Ukrainian administration does not try to exploit this situation, I fully agree with your statement. However, there are no free lunches in politics. If you do not respect your partners, shout at them, humiliate them, and ostentatiously ignore Poland in the E3 format, as Zelensky’s administration did, you take a great risk of pushing your politics too far.

There have been too many yellow cards already. If Zelensky feels invincible on his own, fine — good luck. Am I happy about it? Hell no. The war is dragging on and people are dying, but it should be Zelensky’s job to avoid this mess.

The recent tension with Ukraine was caused by an unnecessary decision by President Zelensky.

I told him that it is his responsibility to find a way to reduce these tensions.

The worst possible idea would be to try to build domestic support in Ukraine by escalating hostility between Ukraine and Poland. That is simply unacceptable.

I would much rather that our security be built on good relations with our neighbors, including Ukraine. Now we are waiting for a step from Ukraine.

There can be no European Union without reconciliation, and there can be no reconciliation without historical truth. Ukraine must understand this.

Cher Cyril, non. Nos dirigeants ont été humiliés personnellement à plusieurs reprises par l’administration de Zelensky — de Tusk à Sikorski jusqu’à Nawrocki — et nous avons finalement dit: ça suffit.
Par ailleurs, il ne faut pas se faire d’illusions: Frank-Walter Steinmeier non plus n’oubliera pas l’humiliation qu’il a subie. La guerre reste la guerre, mais humilier des responsables officiels qui apportent une aide financière est une erreur stratégique de la part de l’Ukraine.
