NBA 2K16 had one of the best MyCAREER reveals we’ve ever seen, and I truly believe NBA 2K27 should bring that style back.

The biggest difference? They SHOWED us the game.

They didn’t just give us a blog to read. They gave us a visual breakdown of MyCAREER, the new features, and how everything connected. We got to actually see the experience before launch.

This is what the community wants.

When you’re revealing MyCAREER or new features, don’t just hand us pages of text. Give us trailers. Give us gameplay demonstrations. Give us visuals. Give us something we can pause, analyze, and get excited about together.

You could feel the passion behind NBA 2K16.

That rollout felt like it was made for the diehard 2K community. It wasn’t about celebrities. It wasn’t about influencers. It was about the fans who play this game every single year.

Some of the greatest 2K trailers came from that era.

I remember watching the NBA 2K16 MyCAREER trailer and counting down the days until release. That’s the kind of excitement these reveals used to create.

Somewhere along the way, that feeling disappeared.

The community doesn’t just want to read about new features. We want to experience them before launch. We want to see them in action.

Bring back the passion.

Bring back the excitement.

Bring back trailers that make the NBA 2K community feel like they’re part of the journey, not just reading about it afterward.

🎮 Look at the NBA 2K20 MyPLAYER Trailer. This is what the community has been asking for.

The NBA 2K20 MyPLAYER trailer told us everything we needed to know. It broke down the badge system, explained how the MyPLAYER Builder worked, talked about VC, and showed us the features instead of making us read about them.

That’s what made those older 2Ks special.

They didn’t just tell us what was new. They showed us. They built excitement. They gave the community something to break down, discuss, and look forward to.

That’s why so many people fell in love with NBA 2K.

As the years have gone by, I feel like some of that passion has faded. Some of the games we consider the greatest in the series had reveals that felt like they were made with the community in mind.

I think 2K has lost its direction with the community.

It feels like the focus has shifted too much toward celebrities and putting people front and center that the community never asked for, instead of delivering the things that diehard NBA 2K fans have been requesting for years.

If NBA 2K wants to reconnect with the community, it has to bring this passion back.

Bring back the detailed trailers. Bring back the feature breakdowns. Bring back the excitement that made us count down the days until launch.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I was as excited for an NBA 2K release as I was for NBA 2K16 and NBA 2K20.

And let me make one thing clear.

I’m not an NBA 2K hater. I’m a diehard NBA 2K fan.

That’s exactly why I’m speaking up. I want this community to get the experience it deserves.
