The Board is recognizing the 2026 Collierville Schools Educators of the Year. The nine teachers each received an honorarium of $5,000 from Kent and Janice Ritchey of Landers Auto Group. The others received an honorarium of $1,000 each from the Collierville Rotary Club.
Once again, the Grinch continues his misbehavior and yes, it’s happening right here in Collierville.
For the fourth year in a row, he found himself in trouble, was bonded out by a resident of Whoville, and quickly returned to causing mischief around town. Some lessons take longer than others.
A special thank you to the residents of Six Crowns for their continued support and hospitality, and to Darrell Greene, as this appears to be his final broadcast in the Mid-South. We appreciate his years of coverage and wish him the very best in what’s next.
Most importantly, we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and sincerely thank the Collierville community for your continued support throughout the year.
27 bedrooms will be too quiet tonight.
27 backpacks that won't be unpacked with stories spilling out. Twenty-seven "Mom, you'll never guess what happened!" moments that won't come. Twenty-seven goodnight kisses that won't be given.
We sent our girls to Camp Mystic the way parents always do—with packed lunches and nervous excitement and promises to write every single day. Regular July send-offs that became the last regular moment for 27 families.
The Guadalupe River surged 26 feet in under two hours. 26 feet. That's taller than telephone poles. That's higher than a mother's love can reach when seconds are all you have.
These weren't just campers. They were someone's heartbeat walking around outside their body. Someone's little one who still needs the hall light on. Someone's baby who leaves sticky notes on mirrors saying "I love you, Mommy."
27 bedrooms that should be messy with camp clothes and full of whispered secrets about new friends.
Instead, they're quiet. Too quiet.
27 families who would trade everything—everything—to hear that beautiful noise again.
Search teams work through the night. Hope works through the night. Love works through the night.
But tonight, 27 rooms stay silent, and our hearts shatter for every single family waiting by quiet doors.
Hold your babies tighter. The quiet is teaching us that noise is a gift we never appreciated enough. 💔

A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety. "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,"--Chief John Drake https://t.co/1YejKJ2WgM
Ways to help prevent mass violence in your community:
1. Advocate for behavioral threat assessment teams in all schools
2. Understand these attacks are pre-planned. With planning comes observable behaviors. Share these & increase bystander reporting
3. No name, no notoriety
@Delta lost our first bag over a week ago. Still is sitting in an airport unmoved (s/o to my trusty AirTag). Then to put the cherry on top, they lost our other bag last night and blessed us with hours upon hours of delays. I basically have no belongings left at this point 🆘
Loved getting to visit with @austinpeay counseling grad students & share all things BTAM! Targeted violence in our schools is preventable!
Thanks for the invite!! @gibson_dr
