Seeing the goverment mandated annual Nayib Bukele homicide reduction tweets on the timeline again. And that just reminds me that Bukele is quite literally the perfect leader.

Does not imprison himself with his own ideology, leading to brain dead decisions. Does not sell out to foreign powers for campaign funds. Does not listen to NGOs. He just implements the common sense policies, that surprise surprise, work like a charm.

In fact it’s sad that the only thing that Bukele is publicly praised for is his security crack down, when in reality his economic policies have allowed the economy to grow and develop quite drastically over the last couple of years and he should be praised for it to.

As much as I appreciate the humor about Eu regulations, and as much as my more right leaning political opinions compel me to disagree with goverment interventions and regulation there is one thing that make me pause.

Every-time I go to Europe, everything taste better, and more natural then it does in my home country, or even the US. The air is clean, people seem happier, have more free time, and seem to enjoy life. Does regulation actually work?

This is why I only stay at Chain hotels no matter how “luxury” the non chain alternatives are.

When you pay 700 euro a night in a Marriott you always get what you paid for. Amazing service, great breakfast, and you get reward points that accumulate to give you great bonuses.

When you pay stay in a Marriott that is 100-300 a night you also get everything you need and at the highest level, with of course the absence of extravagance. But you get what you pay for.

However every time I have stayed in a non chain hotel, no matter how expensive it’s always is below expectations. Moldy smells, shitty breakfast, bad service, cleaners forget to clean, and etc. Always stay in a chain hotel within your price range and you will never be disappointed.

The operating system forced on the great city isn't working, and the decay is getting out of hand.

The politics changed from meritocratic leadership and municipal power to party loyalty and ideological obsession.

Service delivery died in the process, and society lowered civic responsibility, the standards bar, and its demands from authorities.

This disorder is a consistent pattern across post-independence Africa, infrastructure breakdown and poor service delivery are rampant.

Everything else is blamed except the people in power and the people living in such dirty conditions, without any accountability or ownership of responsibility.
